Re: Retro gaming

To be honest, I'm much more in admiration of some of the games you're showing off there, rather than the plastic thingies! :P I could see myself being more interested if I would have a lot more cardboard boxed games (NES, SNES), but most of those I've got as carts only. Personally, I don't see the ...

Re: Microsoft Xbox news and discussion thread

This looks great. Sadly only mentions Android support, but would be all over it if it can be used with iOS. One thing I will definitely buy (if it comes west) is this mini Sega arcade cab with 36 games! https://www.segadriven.com/2020/07/astro-city-mini-featuring-golden-axe-revenge-of-death-adder-co...

Re: Retro gaming

Does anyone else here use protectors or sleeves for their beloved retro game collections? I’m building a little library for mine at the moment (basically reconfiguring a big cupboard!) and that got me thinking about how best to keep everything in the best possible condition to avoid degradation and ...

Re: The Last of Us Part II

The extraordinary bile being directed towards the developers and performers who created this game is truly disgusting. The internet can be a cesspit at the best of times, but I find there is something especially gross about this toxic element of the gaming community that only seems to be getting lar...

Re: Retro gaming

There are issues around the expired Ferrari license, hence the XBLA version no longer being available. I would love it if they managed to resolve this and get a comprehensive, definitive version up on contemporary platforms. Yeah it's a real shame. Almost certainly the same reason behind why we've ...

OutRun 2 - This one unhinged Berserk fan I know keeps raving about it, so I thought I might give it a shot. Outrun 2 on Xbox is fantastic! Still have my original copy but sadly it's not been made backwards compatible on Xbox One as of yet. With comments around a month ago suggesting they're going t...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I've been playing a brick breaking game since I got my Vita a couple of weeks ago called Twin Breaker by Lilymo Games who made an arcade shooter called Habroxia that you might have heard of. It's pretty good although I think sometimes luck plays too much of a role in some levels rather than skill. ...

Yo, my mate wants a word with you all. https://i.imgur.com/SxX4CiR.jpg?1 I must say, that is mildly arousing. Digital Foundry put out a good video this week, looking at the logical price expectations and various other sensible factors that would affect the PS5's price, as well as any potential pric...

Re: The Sony news and discussion thread

Makes me think though, is there a thread on here for the best looking consoles? No need. Gamecube. Then Dreamcast. They are both great. So compact. The Gamecube is super cute (even the discs are cute!), but I'd probably give it to the Dreamcast - they packed so much power into such a small pa...

Re: Retro gaming

I'm looking into VGA CRT monitors for the Dreamcast. FML  Do it! I'd bloody love one of those, but while storing my game collections is relatively easy (I'm in the planning stages of converting part of a rather large built-in wardrobe into a games library!), finding a spot for a hulking great ...

Re: The Sony news and discussion thread

The ability to trade in games is a huge factor for me as it funds a lot of my game purchases these days. I'm sure there are millions in the same boat, particularly at the moment. It's the main reason I don't think the digital-only future is perhaps quite as close and inevitable as it sometimes seems.

Re: The Sony news and discussion thread

I'm definitely up for an all digital console - but whether I'd take an all digital PS5 over an all digital Xbox is questionable. It really depends on whether Sony get their act together with PS Now. It's so, so much better than it was, but it's still not Gamepass. Also, I very rarely day one purcha...

Re: Your favorite game trailers

Yeah they all got pretty good reviews at the time to be fair, and definitely got the franchise back on track after they drove it into the ground with the likes of Chronicles and Angel of Darkness. Will be interesting to see where they go with the series next. I played and liked the reboot and Rise, ...

Re: Your favorite game trailers

That first one is nicely done. That was a short, quick-fire period for Tomb Raider wasn't it - Legend (2006), Anniversary (2007), Underworld (2008). Never played any of them, although Anniversary as a remake of the original is always something I've meant to check our and not got round to. Can't say ...
