Re: E3 2018 - Conference times and general chat

I'm with you guys. I'm still struggling to engage with gaming since Breath of the Wild altered the landscape for me, and it did that through mechanics, gameplay variety, terrain traversal and complex physical systems. All at a low frame rate and fairly low Res graphics in the grand scheme of things....

Re: E3 2018 - Conference times and general chat

Like every year, I ignore E3 then pick through the event well after it's finished. Hype and marketing doesn't do it for me, but I'm trying to avoid being too uninformed. I want to be excited about future releases too. But yeah, these just feel like the same games I've been playing for a decade now,...

Re: E3 2018 - Conference times and general chat

Interesting. I think the visuals look pretty swish! Anyone else have opinions? The gameplay didn't look anything too new to me, but graphically, from watching it on a YouTube stream at least, my thought was 'there is NO way this is running on a PS4'. I'd go as far as to say it was the title that mo...

Re: Your questions for Fumito Ueda (Ico, SotC, The Last Guardian)

Scoop! Awesome news. ICO and SoTC got me back into gaming... Not sure these are interesting enough, but my two penneth: I adore the sense of his worlds feeling like there was once a thriving, sophisticated civilisation that had fallen into ruin, and I spent hours traveling around both and piecing to...

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread

Is it just me or is the Splatoon 2 single player brilliant? Full of fun and variety, I feel like I’ve done a fair bit and I’m only on the boss of Sector 2. The last level I did (you can do them in whatever order you find them) was superb, with shades of Sonic & Jet Set Radio with the rail grinding....

Re: Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition

Tempted to buy this given the love on here. Fallen out of love with my Switch over the past few weeks, due to the release schedule mainly being games I already own, but I never picked this up on the Wii U.

Re: 324: Resident Evil (2002) (Biohazard)

Its funny how your mind plays tricks on you. How places you recall being huge as a kid turn out to be tiny, or albums you loved as a teenager often turn out to be a bit rubbish years later. This isn't something videogames play with very often, with repeated playthroughs usually yielding less challen...

Re: 317: Worms series

I had an enormous amount of fun when I bought Worms back on the Amiga. Team 17 had been on a terrific run of form and this was yet another gem. There was a lot more humour in games back then. Many tried to be funny by roping in comedians or by having witty scripts. I always found Worms to be more hi...

Re: Our next podcast recording (1.4.18) - 313: Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (Biohazard 3: Last Escape)

May have missed the boat for this, but if not... Of the 6 or so Resident Evil games I've played, I'd have 3 as the one that has failed to leave a real lasting impression. Like the Tomb Raider and Syphon Filter sequels that appeared at a similar time, it felt when this title landed, the formula and c...

I just came 2nd place in a sickeningly intense final exchange. I'm sure this mobile version will have its detractors, but my dry mouth and shaking hands is enough to tell me that this is PUBG. No doubt about that.
This bodes well for a Switch port too.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Playing loads of ARMS these days. Got any fellow ARMS players in here? Love experimenting with different strategies and mixing it up with weird character abilities / arms etc. Such a fun fighting game! In a fan, though I haven't put huge amounts of time into it. Probably 15-20 hours. But yeah, it's...
