Re: 358: Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker

I promise, I’ve tried to keep this as short as possible but hopefully there’s a point or two in here which will help the discussion along or highlight something ;) . I’ve played this to completion on both the Wii U and the Switch, The Switch version I achieved 100% (eventually). All books. All Stars...

Re: The "Introduce yourself" thread

Without wanting to sound a little stupid I’m trying to work out how to upload a photo onto the forum from my iphone. It’s presently proving less than straightforward. Any bright ideas? I rarely access the forum from anything other than my phone. Yeah man, it can be a pain. I currently upload images...

Re: Retro gaming

Ah mate, good news.

I have the Analogue Super NT and it’s a fabulous piece of kit - I’m sure the Mega SG will be equally as good.

Looking forward to hearing how you get on with it.

Which one you going for ?? (I’d get Jp I think).

So did you get one? I'm still on the fence and looking for trustworthy consumer impressions... :|
I didn’t mate, no.

It solves a problem I don’t actually have but is still a great product by all accounts from what I’ve heard so far.

I don’t think you’d be disappointed.

Re: Retro gaming

Wow, yeah, that’s rather expensive isn’t it. I’d heard about the D-Pad innovation but had no idea that they had a side scrolling G&W. Madness. I have a friend that picked up nearly all of the common versions some time ago in a charity shop for 25p each. I do like the Game & Watches, I think it’s the...

I will have a look around for a decent sound bar. Just a little frustrating as I recently bought a decent bluetooth speaker, and it seems few TVs in my price and size range support it :(
Does it have an input port, or is it solely BT ??

Re: Retro gaming

Oof! That’s a nice Game and Watch! If you’re after any in particular just let me know the details. There’s a place with a lot of them nearby though maybe a bit of a dangerous rabbit hole to go down! Ha, cheers man, although like you say it’s a deep, long old hole. I’m going to actively hold back on...

Re: 4K TV thoughts?

There's so much to talk about around this but I'll give you a few serious things to consider. First though, lets get sound out of the way. The internal speakers will be poor, serviceable certainly but you'll want to get something purposeful set up to give some proper depth and tone. Sound bars now a...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I'd really encourage anyone playing SUPERHOT to do the challenges. That's where the real ~game~ is in my opinion. You can get through the story mode proper without having to really push the mechanics, but when you've only got a sword for the whole time or have a real-time time limit, you have to th...

I generally don't like doing to many of these posts as I don't want it to be a 'Pick-Up' thread or anything but I see no harm in doing it once in a while as a potential discussion point etc... So as usual I've been picking up bits and bobs over the last few months, mainly things I want to play again...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Due to Smash Bros. I also became more interested in the regular Kirby games. I only ever got the more spin-off type Canvas Curse, Mass Attack and Epic Yarn and I always felt I wasn't the target audience for your every day suck 'n copy Kirby game. I got Triple Deluxe, Super Star Ultra and Adventure ...

Re: Volume Eight

I’d have had money on some sort of Castlevania theme this year, having clocked Josh playing them a few months ago  . Whenever I see a member of the team playing something a bit out of left-field and older, I often sub-consciously wonder if it’ll be on the next list. I thought it a few years ago...

Re: Yoku's Island Express

For an entry-level Metroidvania you really can't go far wrong with either of the Steamworld Dig games. They are the gaming equivalent of comfort food for me (and are relatively easy to 100%). Yeah, wow, SWD2 was brilliant I thought. I enjoyed the first one but the second one was better in a number ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Having finished Pikmin 3 and Kirby: Planet Robobot, I am now in a good place to pick my next adventure. NSMBU is here but I’m not overly busting to get into this again, as good as it was, I’ve played it before not too many years ago, so that can wait - besides it was delivered to the office today an...
