Re: The Last of Us
Think I'll wait until the season's over. I prefer watching at my own pace. Great to see it's getting so well reviewed. I'm quite glad they're changing things too. That way each stands on it own, but still gives you a good telling of the story.

Re: Games Completed 2023
January 5th - Final Fantasy VII January 22nd - Death's Door January 25th - Citizen Sleeper January 31st - Dead Space (2008) The remake motivated me to finally get the original off my backlog. Still a very solid game. Movement and shooting feel just right, and enemies are well designed to create fun...

Re: Games Completed 2023
January 5th - Final Fantasy VII January 22nd - Death's Door January 25th - Citizen Sleeper I loved this. It plays like a board game, and is quite addictive moving from day to day managing your activities. It’s quite short and there’s plenty to discover on another run, places you didn’t find and sto...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
The main issue for me is when I've come back to a game or I've just forgotten the last thing I was told, and there's no way to reference it again. For some games a glowing waypoint or whatever would defeat the purpose, but at the same time if you have nothing to go on then you're inevitably going to...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I do wonder if the nature of Gamepass makes these games more disposable to me. Get 15/20 hours of fun out of them and move on. Would I have done the same to The Witcher 3 or Dragon Age Origins back in the day if they'd been 'free'? I don't think I would. I think when a game's got its hooks in you, ...

Re: 573: Death's Door
I really liked the world of Death’s Door. It reminded me of Terry Pratchett, a reassuring mix of fantastical creatures and down to earth characters mixed with corporate bureaucracy and social commentary, all with a great sense of humour. I always looked forward to going back to it and exploring its ...

Last of Us Part 1/Remastered : There's a free trial of Part 1 on PS Plus at the moment. So on a whim I decided to waste the afternoon playing it, then playing the original right after to compare. The trial service is not great honestly. You have to download the entire game, and then are given two h...

Re: What's Out This Week?
Oh the Braid episode is one of my favourite entries of the C&R podcast. I tried it before the episode came out and I just could not get on with it. Admittedly part of that was that it would slow down to a crawl when it was being streamed on Playstation Now but it was far from the biggest reason...

Re: Gaming predictions 2023
I'm guessing a Bloodborne remaster/remake is more likely than a sequel. My honest prediction would be nothing, but I'd love to be wrong. Predictions 1) Resident Evil 4 remake is a GOTY nominee. 2) Hogwarts Legacy gets middling reviews but sells very well. 3) Elden Ring DLC comes out and is gigantic.

Re: What's Out This Week?
Will definitely miss Josh and Darren's contributions, all the best to both. Goldeneye episode's a favourite of mine, as is the Braid one where they both respectfully trash an indie darling haha. Lots of great stuff over the years.

Re: Games Completed 2023
January 5th - Final Fantasy VII I’ve been meaning to complete FFVII for longer than I can remember. One of those that I played with friends, stopping and started over the years, but always found myself gravitating away from. After playing through some other final fantasies I decided I really need t...

Re: 595: FIFA series
From the early 2000s to early 2010s, I owned just about every Fifa game. Definitely all the main games. They were a staple in my house. My brother and I, and any friend that came over, played plenty of matches against each other, played through seasons and careers, creating characters and teams. For...

Re: 580: Deathloop
Deathloop’s generated some interesting discussions for me, including on the C&R forums. At its core it has well crafted Arkane combat and level design, two great characters, and a fun soundtrack, even if it is a bit Austin Powers. This will be plenty for most to have a great time. And I did too,...

Re: 568: Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
Jedi Fallen Order ticks a lot of boxes for me. Soulsborne inspired levels and checkpoints, third person lightsaber combat and force magic, cinematic set pieces and story telling. Check, check, check. It’s a comfortable game to switch on and lose myself in. It’s a jack of all trades though. The set p...

New Year's Gaming Resolutions
Thought I'd put together a list of gaming resolutions. Just like my normal resolutions, it'll likely change and evolve before being forgotten long before the end of the year. But it's a bit of fun and a good way for me to keep track of where I'm at heading into the new year. Not something I've thoug...

Re: My 5 favourite and 1 least favourite games I've finished this year
Nice one, I don’t play enough new releases to put together a yearly list so this works for me. I’ll leave off replays and unfinished games too. Also I’m picking favourites here rather than the ‘best’ games I’ve played. Favourite 5 - God of War 3 Remastered : Really enjoyed playing the original God o...

Re: Games Completed 2022
That's really weird as here in the UK it's technically a budget release at £50 RRP. That's not just a good deal I found either, that's the standard price. Even the digital edition on the PS Store is £54.99 That's quite bizarre. I've noticed when buying online, new/sealed games imported from the UK ...
