Re: Spare download codes (Steam/Origin/GOG/XBLA/PSN/whatevs)

Bundle spreadsheet Please take a look and let me know if there's anything you fancy. There's a lot of bundle fodder in there that I've accrued over the years, but there are some genuinely top games lurking in the crowd too. Hello TeePee, I wondered if you still have the codes for Life is Strange an...

Re: All things Achievements, Trophies, Meta

I would like to see Platinum trophies more easily attainable, although I guess that would devalue them in the eyes of trophy hunters, but I don't mean easy to get as such, but I wish so many games didn't rely on stuff like max out every weapon upgrade, or collect all 500 feathers or whatever. Stuff...

Re: All things Achievements, Trophies, Meta

I've been a completionist since Donkey Kong Country on the SNES. When the achievement system first appeared with the 360 it was a really interesting idea which in some ways worked but in others was very flawed. It's all about how achievements are used. There are 'good achievement lists' and 'bad ach...

Re: Mortal Kombat - Cane and Rinse 286

Great podcast. Thanks guys. Maybe the lack of interest in MK3 was due to the success of 3D fighters that emerged after MK2 (Virtua Fighter and Tekken for example) more than MK3 being a disappointing game. The addition of run and combos really improved MK and made the 3rd game fantastic in my opinion...

Re: The videogame music thread (also Sound of Play submissions)

I would like to recommend this beautiful theme from my personal favourite game of the current generation and the 7th highest user rated PS4 game of all time on Metacritic.com.

Phillip Sheppard's 'Kara's Main Theme' from the amazing Detroit: Become Human.

Enjoy!

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince (Xbox 360) - I played this game on the PS3 around 5 years ago and quite enjoyed it. Decided to go back to it this time on the 360, and really, this game is excellent. I have no interest in Harry Potter really (only saw the first movie and didn't like it) but th...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Try Dirt Rally for a current gen rally game, it's brilliant. Hard as nails, you really have to learn the car and tracks. You can't rely on powersliding your way to victory in that one! Yeah I enjoyed the first Dirt though, too. It was probably the last in the long running Colin McRae* series that I...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Finally got round to playing the original DiRT on XBOX 360. Fabulous game. Gave me a good 20 hours of rally driving fun anyway. :) Certainly better than Forza Horizon 3 with it's stupid annoying cinematics, non-mutable dance music, game crashes, rip-off DLC packs etc. etc. In fact DiRT was better th...

Re: Special No.2: PlayStation

Two words come to my mind... Ridge Racer! Although the PS1 had a huge library of classics nothing stood out for me throughout the consoles life quite like Ridge Racer. 1995-2000 the original game was rarely out of my console. As a young boy in the months before the PS1's release I could not stay awa...

This doesn’t really stack up; the average time to complete Fahrenheit, Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls and Detroit *combined* totals under 45 hours...
Maybe you're right there actually.

Any chance you'd like to do a David Cage games speedrun at AGDQ? lol.

Re: Detroit: Become Human

You make some interesting points SubZero. Though it's hard to compare low-budget indie games with Quantic Dreams games because of the difference in scale. Heavy Rain and Detroit are hugely ambitious games with multiple playable characters, complex story branching and last the average player between ...

Re: Detroit: Become Human

As much as I am enjoying Detroit, its still incredibly... quantic dream esque. That is to say, incredibly clumsy and heavy handed. But at least its not quite as awful as Heavy Rain. Can anyone actually think of a game since Heavy Rain that has done what it did and improved on it? I can't. The only ...

Re: Detroit: Become Human

I havent played the game and I dont think I will after the alegations that came out earlier this year but I did watch a good chunk of it on twitch and I think it's fair to say it's by far the game Quantic Dream ever made, that being said Its still very much a David Cage game and it deals with its s...

Re: Detroit: Become Human

So far I think it’s superior to beyond and heavy rain. The interface is better and I genuinely found the opening exhilarating. I rarely buy games on release anymore but I’m so glad that I bought this. It does feel very much like heavy rain in its design. I don’t mind the writing. The characters are...

Great episode, very funny and enjoyable. Thanks guys.

I never knew there was a Gameboy Advance version of Crazy Taxi! When I got home from work today I had to YouTube it and.... hahaha :D It's Crazy Taxi but on a Gameboy Advance!

Again, thanks for a great podcast.

Re: Detroit: Become Human

Nice to see others excited about the release. Unfortunately I can't afford to buy another PS4 and the game right but I will be getting it as soon as I can. I checked the reviews this morning and as expected many were just going to hate Cage's work regardless but gamers who have actually played it se...

Re: Detroit: Become Human

So I would never normally pre-order a Quantic Dream title as I've not had the best time with several Cage games. However I'm looking at a new... financial venture / job of sorts where I might need to pick up more PS4 exclusives at launch and basically play them immediately. I played the demo and ac...

Detroit: Become Human

Ok, I've been waiting for and following this game ever since that Kara trailer thingy appeared on YouTube many years ago. I'm a huge fan of David Cage and his work and Heavy Rain is possibly the most memorable game I've ever played (maybe because my child died not long before). Has anyone pre-ordere...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Anyone else try the Onrush PS4 beta? Great to see some originality in a racer (with no races), but I found once you got past the initial thrill it soon felt very shallow and success very random. I am really, really enjoying Golf Story on the Switch! As much as I want to get Ocarina of Time finished...
