Re: Spare download codes (Steam/Origin/GOG/XBLA/PSN/whatevs)

Hey everyone - hope you're all doing well. Just popping my head back in to say hello and to let y'all know that I've still got a big ol' list of games looking for a good home. These are all unused and/or duplicate Humble Bundle keys - they're all legitimate, and there's no ulterior motive - I'm post...

Pretty good, actually! (sorry, haven't dropped by in a while!)

I'll have a look and if it's still there, I'll PM you the code. :)

Re: Other podcast recommendations

For those that have enjoyed the work of the Idle Thumbs guys, I can highly recommend another podcast under their umbrella, Important if True - it's sort of difficult to describe, but it's a consistently entertaining listen of stuff that manages to be completely mundane, yet also oddly compelling and...

Re: An interview with Nate Crowley

Ordered a copy off Amazon entirely on the strength of the podcast. Now I need to buy a coffee table to put it on.

And presumably start drinking coffee.

Re: Super Hexagon - Cane and Rinse 281

Inspired by the podcast, decided to give this a go (PC). Big swing and a miss for me. I like the idea, and the visuals and music were great, but found the controls felt horribly imprecise. I may be missing the point, but it felt like many, many more of my deaths were due to me overshooting my intend...

Re: Other podcast recommendations

For those that like their football, I highly recommend The Football Ramble - it strikes just the right balance of silly and serious chat - the guys aren't above talking absolute frontier gibberish (particularly Pete), but on the same note, there's actually some genuinely sensible and interesting bac...

Re: Spare download codes (Steam/Origin/GOG/XBLA/PSN/whatevs)

I've got so many sitting in my various bundle libraries that I've actually created a google docs spreadsheet to track them all (which in turn involved me learning to use regular expressions.... long story!) - I presume linking to such things is okay, if not, please remove! Bundle Codes (google doc)...

Re: Spare download codes (Steam/Origin/GOG/XBLA/PSN/whatevs)

Bundle Codes (google doc) Wow, that's amazing! Mind if I nab Dark Souls II, Layers of Fear and STRIDER, assuming they're Steam codes? I'll promise I'll feed them and care for them to the best of my abilities. ;) And will you then send me the codes via PM? Should be in your inbox waiting for you. Al...

Re: Good first video games

Yeah, knowing your audience is a big part of it, but I would also strongly advise (mainly for your own sanity) picking carefully in as far as ensuring that your choice of game is relatively low-maintenance and won't result in you being called through every thirty seconds to put out (hopefully non-li...

Re: Game suggestions for the podcast

It's a long shot, as the learning curve is famously bordering on effing vertical, not to mention the fact that even by the creator's own admission, the game will probably be in Alpha forever, but I'd love to hear the CAR crew's thoughts on Dwarf Fortress, and particularly the concept of FUN in the g...

Re: Good first video games

Not the first, but one I introduced to my daughter to great effect was Terraria. She'd been dabbling with Minecraft already, but it's difficult to play multiplayer (and for reasons I can't really put my finger on, I've always hated Minecraft), so I picked up a copy of Terraria on XBL, and she loved ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Yeah, I remember playing about halfway through Resi 4 via rentals around the time it landed on PS2 and loving it - I've subsequently picked it up on PC with all the HD hoojamidangles and doodads, and bounced off it every single time I've tried. It's becoming one of those frustrating games I know is ...

Re: Overwatch

Do we have any regular/irregular Overwatch players/teams on PC here at CaR? I'd love to play a little more Overwatch, but it's just a slog in solo queue, and I'm struggling to find players I enjoy playing with - I'm not particularly fussed about skill level, I just want to have a laugh and enjoy a f...

Re: The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings

Hi guys and girls, first post, so apologies if it's a little rambling! :) I've never really been one for RPGs - as a younger gamer, they never had the 'sizzle' of a shooter or racer in order to capture my attention, and with my formative years as a gamer spent firmly entrenched in the Sega Mega Driv...
