Re: 350: Final Fantasy VII

I played Final Fantasy VII years after it was released, yet right after my Final Fantasy VI play through. So, if the graphics were dated in 2001, I didn't notice. What I did notice was just how cool the game was. I had loved the steampunk world of VI but VII's weird cyberpunk, fantasy future was jus...

Re: 342: Final Fantasy VI

In 2000, I had already had my Nintendo 64 for a few years, been a PC gamer since Commander Keen and was impressed with screenshots of what the PS2 was capable of. And yet, when I finally got around to playing Final Fantasy VI, my first Final Fantasy, my first J and non-J rpg, I was still knocked ove...

Re: Games Completed 2018

Completed Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery. Such an odd game. I enjoyed it, thought some of it was great but was annoyed by the forced month break and the slight obtuseness of that process. What a soundtrack though.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Got back to Nioh. I shouldn't have gone two months away because I've been absolute garbage at the thing since I got back. It took me a while to remember how to do Ki Pulses correctly. But, I'm back and I'm liking the game again, even with boss fights that make me cry. I will say that Nioh has taught...

Re: Games Completed 2018

Finished Bioshock Infinite last night. It was a fun game, lots of cool moments. It never hit my like the first Bioshock, but that game was a complete surprise whereas I came into Infinite with expectations, and a lot of them were met. I plan on playing the Buried at Sea DLC whenever it's on sale next.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I'm starting Bioshock Infinite. Actually, it's a long time coming because it was one of the first sparks in my mind to get me upgrading to a full gaming PC. My laptop was able to play Bioshock 1 but couldn't run Infinite. I'm excited for this one!

I had exactly the same thing with that game. I'll always try to play the good guy, but the fact you're literally playing as a wolf brought something out - smashing up the nightclub was a lot of fun.
Plus, interrogations start to get annoying and I wanted to "PUNCH HIM" a lot more than normal.

Sounds like the big problem for me is not having cable! Is there a online option for me?

Re: Games Completed 2018

The Wolf Among Us completed. Played it with my wife, she got to make all the choices and I just sat with the controller. She made a lot of choices I wouldn't have, but I think I want to pick some darker choices than normal for a Telltale game? I would typically try to be better than those around me,...

Re: The World Cup 2018

Okay, so as an American with no real knowledge of the sport, how would I go about getting into the sport so I can be excited for the next World Cup? How do I follow the sport, where do I watch it, ect? Advice?

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Just started Wolf Among Us with the wife. I'm on the gamepad/mechanics but she's making all the decisions. So far, she's being a bit kinder than I would be, but it's making for a fun playthrough. Best Telltale series, I think. Hope you enjoy it! Are you familiar with the source material? I've read ...

Green Lanterns still is knocking it out of the park, still my number one of all the rebirths
I haven't read Green Lantern since Geoff Johns finished his run. It's still good, you say?

Re: Books completed (2018)

T Flashpoint (GN) - Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert A pretty interesting book in the DC universe. I think at the time it was a fairly substantial event, as it led into The New 52 (I think), but not being particularly invested in the overall story, it felt like a fun 'What if?' story, with some really n...

Re: Games Completed 2018

I just finished this little game called Necrosphere. It's a jump-less platformer, with only two buttons for movements, dashing and a jet pack. There's bubbles that let you bounce. It's hard. And poorly designed. And the dash doesn't always work. And the jet pack is no fun. And some of the music has ...

Re: Games Completed 2018

Just played VVVVVV for the first time. What a fun game that made me hate myself at times. The music is kicking, the speed is fantastic, I really did enjoy it. Probably something I'll wan't to play a bunch in the future. And not die 1000 times.

Re: Games Completed 2018

Played Thomas Was Alone through beginning to end last night. Very charming and made me oddly emotional for a game about shapes. The soundtrack was killer, I loved the style, the platforming/puzzling was fun and breezy. A great game that checked a lot of boxes for me. I'll be recommending to friends,...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

Ha, I adore those first two Predator films, both for their own things. Proper fantasy fuel to an 8 year old Suits. I did spend the first movie thinking, "this would have blown me away as a kid". It's kind of funny how many R-Rated action movies were made in the 80s that really had a huge kid audien...

Re: Games Completed 2018

Just finished my first play through of Mass Effect 2. It's a fun game, still not "in love" with the series. It's all cool, but I almost feel like it's hallowed reputation only sets it up to underwhelm. I was glad to see the inventory gone from the first game, but was disappointed by the lack of dept...
