Re: Games Completed 2018

I just finished The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. It's...not my favorite. I found the travelling to be a bit of a slog, making me less likely to explore beyond what was necessary. I think I might have been better served playing the HD remake, but, oh well. As it ranks for me now... Link to the Past O...

Re: Sea of Thieves - Sing a shanty with the CaR crew

So, I just got a copy of this, as it's one of the few games I can play with my XBOX friend via my PC. Suggestions to make the most of the game? (it's not normally my type of game).

Also, do any C&Rs still play/meet up in it?

Re: Geoff Keighley's The Game Awards

I'm too behind to have played any of the nominees, but, like most people, I'm looking forward to the announcements. Capcom suggesting they might be bringing an old franchise back has me excited for Dino Crisis or Onimusha.

Sunder the Night from Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon by Michiru Yamane m9cI4zWDKAM Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon is something that caught me by complete surprise upon release. Pain from Xenosaga by Yasunori Mitsuda, sung by Joanne Hogg of the band Iona. VTkAEVCX-Hc Xenosaga is a game that, as the more time goes on, the more fondly I look back on it. It was a grand space opera full of unique characters and dealt with topics that, at the ripe age of 16, I was excited to see...

Re: Comic Book Chatter

I just finished Vol. 7 of Tom King's Batman run. The Wedding one. I'm pretty disappointed. I never believed the wedding was going to happen/last but to have it all be concluded in an anti-climatic way, with break up letters in King's pretentious writing style was a real letdown. King's run has been ...

Re: Whatcha Been Listening To?

Hmm, never been a huge Ska fan personally. I don't mind the odd tune when the likes of NOFX, Rancid or (early) Offspring did some, but never been able to get in to bands mainly doing Ska. I've tried a few, Goldfinger as you mention, Less Than Jake, Mighty Mighty Bosstones etc. But yeah, it's not re...

Re: Books completed (2018)

I just read this young adult book called Contagion by Erin Bowman. It's a scifi horror book in that stranded crew/Alien mold. It wasn't bad, but it's definitely a YA book, so your mileage may vary. The characters, aside from one or two are a bit flat, but the creepiness is fairly well done.

Re: Whatcha Been Listening To?

Trying to find a ska band I can really get into, so I gave Goldfinger a try with the Hang-Ups album (the one with Superman). Man, was I wrong. I hated it AND it's not really ska, is it?
Luckily, my wife likes the album so she benefits from my mistakes.

Re: Let's rank Tarantino films, for no reason whatsoever...

I haven't seen them all, but I think I can add my two cents! My list is ranked, but I found it interesting that my bottom four didn't just equal ones I liked LESS than the others, but the one's I just don't like. 1. Reservoir Dogs 2. Pulp Fiction 3. Kill Bill: Volume 1 4. Django Unchained 5. Kill Bi...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I picked up Jurassic World: Evolution on sale. I decided that $20 was a decent price for a game that doesn't have TONS going on but is a pretty decent Dinosaur-zoo simulator. I actually got sucked in to the game in a big way on my second island. More than something like Rollercoaster Tycoon, it actu...

Just watched Summer Of '84. I thought it was a highly enjoyable film with a great ending. Reminded me in equal measure of Stranger Things, Stand By Me and The Goonies, without really being like any of those things. Worth watching.
I'll add it to my list!

06/11 - CrossCode A fantastic experience that does a lot of great things, but is also rather obtuse and thorny in a few areas. In general it was very fun and an impressive achievement for such a small team, and was definitely worth waiting all the years since the crowdfunding campaign. It has great...

Tango Alpha Bravo from Age of Empires: The Rise of Rome by Stephen Rippy. Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I just started The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. One of my gaming shames this. I have the GameCube and Wii U version at home and I’m often, very, very tempted. I was one of those snooty teenagers upset at the art style, because he just wanted another Ocarina. But now, I'm looking forward to it just ...
