Re: Far Cry 2 - Cane and Rinse 339

I enjoyed it too. I appreciate the normal formula but like the sound of play specials this felt like a nice variation on a theme.

The guardians of the galaxy awesome mixtape soundtracks make playing Elite Dangerous feel like a very different experience.
Haha that’s a great idea!

Custom Soundtracks

This may seem like sacrilege to videogame composers but recently when replaying certain games I have been experimenting with listening to an alternative score during certain sequences. It’s very interesting how different the experience can be. One of my favourite soundtracks/scores in recent times i...

Re: The videogame music thread (also Sound of Play submissions)

I’ve just playing Nier (2010) and I’m incredibly impressed by the soundtrack. The ambient background themes are excellent and I love the additional layers which are added or removed contextually. I think youve already had 3 Nier songs on the show but not this one if my search proves accurate. 9yGlD7...

Re: Happy moments with strangers

A really heartwarming story and what an act of kindness. I can’t quite match that but many years ago I had someone sitting across from me on the train hand me the book they had just finished and said “someone gave this to me when they finished it and now Im handing it to you”. It was the first game ...

Controversial opinion: the version in Crisis Core is better than the version in ff7 itself.

Really controversial opinion: every ff7 track is better in crisis core. Especially Aerith’s theme.
Controversial but for the most part I am in agreement (ducks for cover)!

Re: Our Patreon

Not wanting to stroke your egos in any way but I love the “day in the life of Leon and Jay” feel of the Patreon podcasts.. It got me thinking about your Christmas entry last year and how it was nice that you all contributed. But...what if you all put on some slippers and sat by the fire with a mince...

It’s definitely a matter of personal preference but the portal, doctor who and midway arcade packs were my favourite and come with a great amount of content.

Re: Zelda II: The Adventure of Link - Cane and Rinse 204

I’ve negotiated my brick wall and am enjoying it again. In a really bizarre way it reminds me of dead rising. I found it impossible to get through that game until I realised once you died your experience carried over so starting again was part of the gameplay cycle. I also think I was grossly under ...

I pretty much agree with everything he has to say and I’m not even as far in as him.

I’m going to persevere out of pure bloody mindedness rather than enjoyment and I made a tiny bit of progress tonight.

Re: Zelda II: The Adventure of Link - Cane and Rinse 204

Im playing this now in my effort to try and make it through all the Zelda games. I found the first one tricky enough but this seems ridiculous. The RPG mechanic after the first couple of levels requires a ludicrous amount of grinding which saps any enjoyment out of the game. I’m going to stick with ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Is anybody playing AC Odyssey in Exploration Mode, where they do away with the icons and you need to find your way to quests using environmental clues? Curious as to how well it works. I have started it in exploration mode as it said it was the way it was meant to be played. I have not played an AC...

So the final season of The Walking Dead will now be finished via Skybound apparently with ex Telltale staff. :)
Fantastic. A happy end to a sad story.

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

The Belko Experiment - for those unfamiliar with the movie: imagine a satire about the competitive cutthroat corporate world, where people are pitted against each other in a life and death struggle for survival, and then take the satire out of it. I like the cast, and I like James Gunn who gets scr...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

One movie that I would recommend even more is The Invitation . At 100 minutes it's tight and tense, and knows how to create an feeling of somethings a bit... off . You may know where it's going, but it's a movie that builds and releases tension in very interesting ways, and maintains that all the w...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I’m currently playing legend of Zelda 2 and finding it incredibly difficult. Is there a trick to it that I’m missing or should I be grinding to gain a few levels before moving on.
I genuinely think I might have to call it a day as I’m not really enjoying it....at all

Man, the rate at which you are smashing through all these landmark games is staggering for a number of reasons.
I know, next year will be very disappointing for Simon with none of these classics left to lean on :)
I’ll have spintires:)
