Re: 456 - Pokémon
I don't really have anything to say about Gen 1. Established everything but it didn't work. Gen 2's probably one of the best examples of a sequel in gaming. Everything improved and all that. I don't need to tell you all the details. And establishing a trend of going back to the previous region that ...

Re: 500 - Outer Wilds
I think this is the best open world experience I've had? In the sense of actually exploring a map for its secrets where the gameplay is build around it and it's not just a setting. Maybe BOTW beats it. The ending was kind of boring but I do wanna tell you about the special moment I had playing. I wa...

Re: 498 - LISA the Painful RPG
I don't really have too much to say because I only got three hours in. As much as I wanna love this, the graphics, particularly the battle UI, put me off too much to care. It's not horrible, just the font choices and such were too boring to look at.

Re: Our next-but-one podcast recording (19.1.20) - 402: God of War (2018)
Really all I have to say is that the ending is dumb. Like, gross amounts of "Ok, Play God of War 4-2 AKA 5!" And maybe the enemy variety got to the point where I actively avoided doing the troll QTE because I was so sick of seeing it.

Re: 407: Super Mario RPG (: Legend of the Seven Stars)
I'm mainly just here to say that Geno isn't cool. He's very plain and heroic without much substance, he doesn't say a word after his part of the story's done, his role on the team's arguably pretty replaceable. I guess he looks a little neat and woohoo, Geno Whirl. But yeah, certainly not worth all ...

Re: 411: Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
I want to say that the difficulty isn't like, impossible. Because I know that's gonna be a topic here. It's kinda just regular hard. Of course, I had to look at tips sometimes but honestly, it's fine. Maybe the only truly messed up thing was the Demon of Hatred and I might've gotten him with another...

Re: 406: Shadow of the Colossus (2018)
I just want to take this time to say that this game gave me one of my most memorable "Eureka!" moments in all my gaming years. The sixth colossus specifically. I was really thrown off by his aggressive nature. Unsure of what to do, I decided to hide behind a pillar to try and catch my brea...

Re: 448: Devil May Cry V
I had no idea how to Devil May Cry before I played this game. Having lock-on sorts of moves and not lock-on moves felt so strange and alien until I got to grips with it. And then suddenly it was some of my favorite wild nonsense to play. There's few greater feelings than figuring out that Nero's air...

Re: 449: Super Mario Odyssey
I want to tackle what I loved about this game first. I love the build up to New Donk City, how you think you're going and you crash first and when you actually get there, you need to save it before it's the proper bright and sunny aesthetic. I love being able to platform to places you're never suppo...

Re: 400: Final Fantasy XV
I'm just gonna start and say that the cup noodle mission was the best one and FF15 should have hammed it up more often like that. But yeah, the only FF game I've finished to this day and it was mostly good? Except the end, but everyone says that. More than the plot, I was always excited for Ignis to...

Re: 393: Shovel Knight DLC
I don't think many people'll think this, so I'll go ahead and shoulder it: Plague of Shadows was the most fun I had with Shovel Knight. Everything else was good and even great, but the amount of experimentation you could do with the different blends of catalysts and fuses for any situation made it a...

Re: 383: Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes/The Phantom Pain
Never played this. Don't think I will. The gameplay is incredible and all that jazz, all those Kojima details, but something about a game after MGS4's very concluding conclusion sits with me the wrong way. And Triple-A'd cutscenes where you walk and listen to a person speak while you do things inste...

Re: 370: Ape Escape
The short and sweet of it is that I had a lot of fun with this. The controls. Everyone's gonna say this but I loved the control. I really appreciate a game that has very off not-immediate controls that take a learning curve: God Hand, MGS3, Resident Evil 4. Ho' boy, gotta love that SkyFlyer.

Re: 368: Persona 5
This game was basically blind pitched as high schoolers whose special powers active when they rebel against authority and I was sold. Challenge run for anyone listening: play through the whole game without every touching that so-tempting ever-convenient FFWD button, which I'm surprised isn't a featu...
