Re: 553: Dead Space 3
Dead Space is an interesting game, and on it's merits it's pretty solid. However it's the 3rd in a fantastic series of genre defining horror games, and in comparison to those it's a let down. It sacrifices a lot of the pretty solid horror by going full co op, and letting you get creative with the we...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Been playing Vampire Survivors and holy shit it's so addictive, when I heard about the gane, I didn't really understand the appeal, but after starting it, I can barely put it down. It's a really addictive gane that wears it's castlevania inspiration on its sleeve in a really cool way.

Re: Games Completed 2022
September 27th - God of War 3 Remastered And the in-combat QTEs are short, and don't have much negative impact if you fail, keeping the pace of fights going and feeling like a natural part of it. Agree about the in combat QTEs, but some of the environmental ones are just excessive. I stopped playin...

Re: 540: Shinobi (1987)
I checked this out for the pod on Xbox, thinking I'd enjoy it especially after loving the Streets of Rage series. However that didn't end up happening, I think the game is just a little too simplistic for me to get much out of it. I didn't really get into gaming until the 8th generation of consoles,...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?
Pleasantly surprised by House of the Dragon , which I am absolutely loving so far. It seems that HBO learned a lot of lessons from the debacle that was the latter half of Game of Thrones and have gone back to the memorable characters, interpersonal relationships, politicking and palace intrigue tha...

Re: Games Completed 2022
Just finished Fire Emblem Three Houses on the Black Eagle route, had a great time. I played the DLC first which made the campaign seem like a cakewalk in comparison. That being said I loved the story and characters, the story felt more impactful than I expected. Probably gonna replay the Golden Deer...

Been playing Fire Emblem Three Houses via the Black Eagle route and I'm loving it. Just got to chapter 12 and I'm liking the way it's ramping up.

Just watched Barbarian and really enjoyed it. It's a well done grody horror movie with a well realized theme.

Re: Games Completed 2022
Just finished Immortality or at least got to the credits, but I'm still kinda of piecing everything together and looking for some more clips I haven't seen yet. I really like the way the story's presented, the fact that each movie looks distinctly different with some pretty clear parallel themes hel...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Downloaded Immortality which is the new game from Sam Barlow (made Telling Lies and Her Story). Just starting out, but I am loving it so far. I didn't play his previous games so this is new format for me, but it's working. Scrubbing through FMV footage to figure the story is really compelling especi...

Re: Games Completed 2022
Just beat Rollerdrome's campaign, and it was incredible, definitely my game of the year so (didn't expect anything to beat out Elden Ring). I still got some challenges to complete but wow it's just a blast all the way through.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Picked up Rollerdrome and it's just great. It's Tony Hawk with combat and you have to do tricks to refill ammo. Also it's got a fantastic presentation, similar to what Sable was doing, except it runs well. Not far in or skilled at the gameplay but really enjoying it. It's nice that my 3 most anticip...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Picked up Cult of the Lamb and I'm loving it. I've never really gone in on farming Sims, but this game is just hard to put down. It's well paced where you're always want to unlock that next thing which manages to feel just different enough to keep you hooked. The combat is solid, but the pop up stor...

Re: Games Completed 2022
#11 - Stray (2022, PS5) It doesn't even really delve too deep into its core concept. Within the first hour, you get a robot buddy, and instead of being an atmospheric game about a cat fallen into a strange world, it becomes a game about robots and their culture. And it kinda lost me at that point, ...

Re: 541: Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Sonic 2 is a really fun game that released 3 years before I was born, so I didn't play it at the time because it's order than me and I didn't play it till now because I didn't really grow up gaming. Playing it for the pod, I skipped Sonic 1 and went straight for Sonic 2 on my switch via the genesis ...

Re: 531: John Woo Presents Stranglehold
This is an interesting game to play in 2022, it's a lot of fun, but mechanics wise it's a bit of a mess. However I think it does have a standout look and the absurd amount of destruction really helps recreate the John Woo action aesthetic. The environmental action acrobatic moves can be a little too...

I got this game because it looks incredible, but quickly realized my intense lack of skill at games, 2D ones in particular was going to be an obstacle to me seeing the game through. Realizing I wasn't get much other than frustration from the gameplay. I used one of several easy mode mods and focused...

Re: 546: Astro Bot Rescue Mission and Astro's Playroom
I just played Astro's Playeoom because I don't have VR. That being said tt's just a fantastic game that does a great job showing you what the PS5 and it's controller can do with an absurdly joyous vibe. It didn't really inspire any nostalgia for me, since the PS4 was my first console, but it was a f...
