Re: Whatcha Been Watching?
Watched Nope twice in theaters. I liked it the first time and loved it the second. It's really creative, entertaining, and full of fantastic performances all around as well as some of the best horror sequences I've seen in while. Definitely worth checking out unless you're claustrophobic.

Re: Elden Ring
Just platinumed the game, I absolutely loved it, it's gone up as my all time favorite game and I can't wait for the DLC. There's just so much to see and the bosses are so creative. I think this is the most fantastical fantasy world I've ever played. I like that they made respecing relatively easy an...

Re: Elden Ring
I don't understand folks' desperation to rank it against to another, superficially similar but intriniscally very different game from five years ago on another platform. I'm not sure what that achieves. Everyone who's played both will have their own preferences for sure - and that's interesting to ...

Re: Elden Ring
Only a few hours in so far, but I think this'll probably end up being my all time favorite game, it's just so creative and rewarding, I haven't even seen the first main boss yet, but I've already been surprised and blown away several times.

Re: 517: The Outer Worlds
Outer Worlds is a good game that I feel is mostly let down by comparison. On It's own the writing is clever(the corporation's religion is an especially fun idea) and your decisions have impact. Your party is made up of great memorable characters, but the fact that your decisions almost always boil d...

Re: 519: Hitman III
I haven't played Hitman 2 yet, so this was a pretty major upgrade over 1. Every level aside from the final was fantastic, I especially liked Chongqing and Berlin along with Dartmoor. I do wish there had been more ICA agents in Berlin, but IO nails this gameplay and it looks phenomenal. I'm really ex...

Re: 547: Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales
I liked this game for most of the reasons I liked Insomniac's first Spiderman game, combat and Tranversal feel great in a slightly better looking city with some more interesting animations. The story feels like a classic Spiderman tale with villain being someone Miles knows personally. They cause ha...

Re: 532: Hades
This is the first rogue like or light I've actually completed (even though that may have been down to using God mode). I really enjoyed it, it's got a great visual presentation with some fun combat that doesn't get too repetitive. It's a fun twist on Greek mythology with a compelling take on almost ...

Re: 538: Resident Evil Village
I think Resident Evil Village is a good game that is hampered by it's own attempts to recreate RE 4. For some background I haven't played that many RE games, just ReMake 2, 3, and 7. So I played RE4 for the first time shortly before Village Released and it immediately became my favorite Resident Evi...

Re: 520: Control
I love this game, I've played 2 twice one on Xbox One and once on PS5. I think the main thing that stands out is the aesthetic and tone. It looks fantastic with moody lighting brutalist architecture and an impressive degree of Chaos when the combat starts. I love Jesse's internal monolouge and react...

Re: 505: Hollow Knight
Hollow Knight looks like an incredible game, I'm a big fan of From Softwhere, so I like the influences you can see from Dark Souls. It's amazing how such a small team combined elements of Dark Souls and Metroid to such a successful degree. The world looks great with just enough personality to keep y...

Re: Games Completed 2021
Assassin's Creed Unity is the only "classic" Assassin's Creed game I played, but I enjoyed it mostly because Parkoring around Paris is a lot of fun.

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?
Anyone else watching Dr. Brain? it's an apple tv show (at least in the US), but it's some of the best scifi TV I've seen. It's really well directed and it does a great job making a really compelling mystery without being incomprehensible. It's the best show I've seen this year.

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?
I watched Dr Brain, it has a dumb name, but it's a really slick well directed scifi thriller show about an unemotional guy creating memory transfer tech. The showrunmer is Kim Jee-Woon the director who made The Good The Bad The Weird and I Saw The Devil.

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?
Cheers for the reply. I haven't yet but it's in a Herzog BFI box that I picked up earlier in the year. Will definitely get to it soon. Very interested in his take on it. Yeah, I ended up preferring it to the original, but 50 years of filmmaking techniques do help even though it's almost a shot for ...

Re: Games Completed 2021
Just Finished Kena Bridge of Spirits, it's a really fun new AA 3D action with fun combat and an engaging story. It feels like a game that was more common on 360/PS3 consoles. I think it's worth checking out. It also just looks fantastic, it's by the team that made that animated Majora's Mask short a...
