Re: Games Completed 2024
These sound great. Wish I had a PC to play little games like this that never come to console. Strongly thinking of picking up a Steam Deck later this year just for the curios like these.

Re: 638: Vampire Killer (Castlevania: Bloodlines / The New Generation)
I bounced off this the first time I played it, having come straight off a run of Castlevania 1, 3 and 4 on the Konami collection. Something about it put me off, it just looked, felt and sounded a little too...Mega Drivey? It just didn't feel like the other games I'd played before it. I gave it anoth...

Re: Our next podcast recording (8.6.24) - 623: Lunar Lander and Lunar Rescue
I had never played either of these games until this afternoon, but just spent a couple of hours playing them, or at least one of them, via MAME on my Vita. I started with Lunar Lander . Unfortunately, nothing I could do would make the game larger, and it displayed as a tiny stamp sized imagine on my...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Despite buying all those games mentioned above, for some reason I've spent the morning playing Theme Hospital for PS1 on the Vita. I forgot how good that game was.

Re: Games Completed 2024
That reminds me, is your shmup still coming to Switch? :) Oh yes! There was just the small matter of my friend having to rewrite much of the game to keep performance and visuals on par with the PC version. But it's nearing completion. I suspect we can announce a release date very soon. Ah bri...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I bought a bunch of games in the current Switch eShop sale. First off, one I've been meaning to buy for years: Dead Cells. I must admit I'm a little tired with rogue-likes at this point which might be why I put off getting it for so long (as well as it never quite hit the right price for me) but it ...

Re: Evercade
So Evercade have announced the Alpha, and it's not what I'd guessed it might be! https://evercade.co.uk/alpha/ Must admit, they look very nice, seem reasonably priced and would be a great way to play the arcade carts I've collected. Will I buy one though? Aaah, probably not. The novelty would likely...

Re: Summer Games Fest aka "Keigh3"
I'd not heard of that Concord game and got Guardians Of The Galaxy vibes with what looked like quite a fun single player game. How disappointing to then reveal it's a 5v5 live service game. Astro Bot looks good though. If it comes to PS+ I might finally give in to the kids and buy a year of it. Not ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Patiently waiting for the mobile release of this before jumping in. Seems like a prime candidate for a Netflix game, but not sure, will have to wait and see.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I noticed Baba Is You was on Android a couple of days ago and grabbed it right away. I've wanted to play it since it came out but for whatever reason never bought it for Switch. The mobile version was a lot cheaper and it's really a perfect game to play on phone. I've made good progress through the...

Yeah I used to love PC Gamer around the early 2000s. Writers like Kieron Gillen, Richard Cobbett and Jim Rossignol etc.

I fucking did it, woohoo! Two years and finally finished! What a game. Still think it's too big, but what a game.

I'd love a Wind Waker re-release. Also Mario Galaxy 2. And a sequel to Odyssey. Can't see any of those being announced though to be honest. Maybe later for the Switch 2?

Re: Our next podcast recording (1.6.24) - 622: Elden Ring
Aaah I really want to get this finished before the show! Just reached the penultimate boss yesterday, the Godfrey Elden Lord one who transforms in to some beast thing after. I think it's the final boss after that one? The Black Blade chap was a bit of a sticking point, took me about 5 tries to get h...

Re: Games Completed 2024
It's kind of an odd comparison. You're certainly not the only one to make it, but I think aside from both games featuring little creatures you can tell what to do they're completely different games, really. But yeah, I prefer it to Pikmin too!
