Re: Games completed 2012

There are 2 versions of getting under par on MSF anyway right? With the unlocked gun which makes it easy or just a barebones pre-completion under par which is sometimes almost impossible Here's my update: Jan - Super Mario 3d Land (3DS) Jan - Mario Kart 7 (3DS) Jan - Shadow of the Colossus (PS3)* Ja...

Re: Double Dragon (plus forerunners and successors)

Completed it here, can't be sure if it's worth completing to see one of the quirkiest endings of a game in recent times but it's not bad. I initially loathed the art style but it does grow on you. Speaking of which, I'm surprised with the reinvention of Abobo, I always expected him to be Haggar with...

Re: C&R Audio Quiz: Vol. One

While everybody seemed to be giving up on #17, I somehow managed to figure it out, hurrah!! The Great Giana Sisters - composed by Chris Hülsbeck Ahhh now I can have a good sleep :) Well, mikeleddy83 has my total admiration for his hands-down victory! And I'm pretty chuffed to be in the 2nd place to...

Tokyo Jungle

Just started playing this, really is in a genre of it's own. What are your experiences so far?

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I've been playing Tokyo Jungle and it's a great game, I can already tell its going to be a bit of a time sink. 2 animals at 3g and I'm already intimidated by that roster, doesn't help that the few times I've tried to push on with the improved animals that the difficulty seems to have scaled up dras...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Between the many conquests I've planned for this weekend on BF3 I'm going to demonstrate my schizophrenic ability to once again jump to the complete other end of the spectrum and play Tokyo Jungle once the big fat 4.4GB download finishes. Looking forward to it a little. Wouldn't mind having a quick ...

Re: Battlefield 3

Ran my first C4 loaded buggy into a tank today! :). Tank Superiority is quite dull I think, but handy if you want to up your tank skills. I spent most of the game sneaking up behind guys who were camping on the edge of the course with Javelins. Caspian Border & Wake Island are my favourite maps...

Re: Strikefleet Omega (iOS/Android)

Looks pretty good, might have a look for it on the app store later. Is it anything like the merging of Flight Control HD and FTL that I'm imagining? Did spot an amazing poster for it though: https://lh3.ggpht.com/wIEP2Yr4IpqQO9EIR_wmMg66nFJc0sxDj-2CdhKo5Cb5kYIIwnr4TfTny6M_VsNwnA I've yet to play a g...

Re: The videogame music thread - share your favourite tunes

Nice, anything Zelda sounds amazing! Love the Bayonetta track, unfortunately that Unreal track reminds me of the demo I played late at night over LAN with a huge group while in the uni computer rooms only to get a written warning from the on-campus IT staff. Hope my addition works, this one never fa...

Been on a journey through Vincent Cassel movies after watching Mésrine, Irreversible and Black Swan over the last few years. Going back to La Haine was something I should do more often, watching The Crimson Rivers on the other hand... not so much

Re: Mirror's Edge

They really nail it with the moves you can perform in the game, building up speed to make a jump, rolling as you hit the ground and especially wallrunning give you a real sense of accomplishment, the environmental sounds and incidental noises you hear as you hit speed further intensify a transfixed ...

Re: Double Dragon (plus forerunners and successors)

Am I being blind? I don't see this on PS+ at all. No freebies this week at all actually. :? You need to go through to the freebies tab on ps plus and it'll be the first of 5 boxes and first of 5 items in that box, should be a trail and unlock key I think. No idea why it isn't just out in the open.

Re: Double Dragon (plus forerunners and successors)

Would you say Guardian Heroes is a Double Dragon successor, I always find that game hard to pigeon hole. Loving the new neon though (especially since it's on psplus), my first double dragon was the gameboy version followed by 2 on the NES. Wasn't there a supposedly rubbish street fighter clone too (...

Re: Battlefield 3 (PS3)

Good suggestions, I think the price will put me off the turtle beach set for now but once I hit 20 hours on the game I'll order some of those surround sound ones (the review on amazon made them look amazing for the asking price). Since I'm the silent squaddie at the moment keep an eye on the radar a...

Brilliant game again tonight, I'm starting to get that pixel vision you guys seem to have. When I had the opportunity to shoot the guy on the roof from the gun on the chopper I just couldn't see him until about the 3rd flyover, even then he was about 5 pixels :) I spent 2 hours on an empty server be...

Re: Half Life 3

I still think Valve are pretty much entitled to releasing any further games in the series at their own pace but if they do release a new Half-Life in the near future I'm confident it will revolutionise the FPS genre once more. You can be sure that if the next game does inherit features from other ga...
