Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Met with Suits in Amsterdam, yesterday, and he put a copy of DecapAttack in my hand. I played until my first game over, where I had to defeat a fat toad, that had little toadlings pop out of the warts on its back. Every bit the weird and wonderful game I remember it to be and a bit of a step up from...

Re: Games Completed 2018
Managed to sneak in a quick Resident Evil 5 playthrough with my man Michiel over a few evening sessions. Some of its design flaws did become more apparent to me this time around as opposed to my last playthrough 7+ years ago. It sits comfortably near the bottom of my personal mainline RE list, but ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Kid Icarus: Uprising might be my favourite 3DS game, even though I never stop wishing it was on Wii or Wii U instead. Picked up Resident Evil 5 from where I left of last time, but this time I've got company in the form of KSubzero as Sheva Alomar. A lot of fun, even though K has problems with my lax...

Re: Dragonball FighterZ
Same friend who gifted me his base PS4 gave me a copy of the game as well. My sentiment is very much like yours and I fell in love with Dragon Ball when I saw it on French and Spanish TV in the early nineties, so there's that attachment to it as well. Haven't been able to play it as much as I would ...

Re: Devil May Cry 1-5 & DmC
For some reason I found it more apparent and grating in 3. Off the top, it could be the enemies' visual design and the way you just walk from one encounter into the next, without the action adventure framing of the first game. I'll report back after replaying the whole series, though!

Re: Devil May Cry 1-5 & DmC
It's such an important series, that's also as wildly uneven as they come. 3 is the high point for many, but I feel its combat system is wasted on uninteresting stock enemy encounters. Boss fights are dope, though. 4 could have been the best, but it suffers badly for the reasons KSubzero described an...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Haven't quite settled either, but this time I picked TURBO MONK TENGAI and made it to Stage 4 on one credit. Love the ominous chanting he does when he drops his bomb of holy smiting. Haha I love that your kids were giving you pointers! Ha, yeah. I found it quite charming. Now that I think about it, ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Played a mix of things today, in between other activities: Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker (Wii U), Mario + Rabbids: Kindom Battle and Samurai Aces. My kids are further in than I am on the first two games, so they were backseat gaming, giving me lots of advice.

^^^^ Same here, that was great. Both my kids were totally absorbed by Breath of the Wild and I was too. We all go back to it regularly.

Totally with you on that one, dez. The first few stages were like a spectacular journey into the past but via the future and Sonic actually clicked for me and I was getting it and then...DOOF. Back down to Earth Ooh, that doesn't bode well. You and Darren are killing my high, here. Just when I thou...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Just a load of nonsense, I suppose. Not sure where I'm going with all this. I feel you to some extent in that I often go back to older games and not just because we're covering them on Cane and Rinse. Only thing is maybe that I go further back and I find something interesting in many games of many ...
