Re: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
I don’t think there’s ever been a *good* stealth section on a zelda game, I wish they wouldn’t do them. Heh.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Anyone played Greedfall ? Looks really nice, it's an RPG set in the 1700s, fantasy Witcher/Dragon Age type thing except from the screenshots it looks more set around the American revolution time (could be wrong). It's on PS Now, I think I'm going to give it a try after Death Stranding. Played it a ...

Re: Rayman
It always amazes me that they kept making Rayman games despite them not being that great until suddenly they became really great. It’s a persistence that you don’t see all that often.

Re: The Sony news and discussion thread
There’s been pretty strong rumour ff16 has been in dev for a while, but you’d need to be someone who follows the square producers quite closely to work out which one isn’t talking much about what they’re working on at the moment and join the dots.

Re: What's Out This Week?
It looks like these are running under emulation rather than being remakes as such. Which I don’t have a problem with, but it seems a lot of people online do.
I sort of get it, if you’re buying a game again (effectively) then you’d hope it was more than just the exact game running in an emulator.

The original Hyrule Warriors is probably the best introduction to the Warriors games series you can find.

I had to choose the alternate control scheme for the bat mobile tank thing, the default just would not click in my brain.

Re: The Sony news and discussion thread
Don’t go holding your breath for sf6, rumour has it it’s been going very badly indeed, not helped by Ono leaving the company (seemingly because of this, but likely just as much because of Covid. It does seem Japanese developers are being hit much harder by the ‘everyone works from home’ reality of g...

Re: Features you want from the PS5 and Xbox Series X
One of the few things I do know about the ps3 architecture is that it’s a total clown fiesta. A system designed to first not need a GPU, then redesigned around a custom built GPU it didn’t get, finally bolted to an off the shelf GPU that made everything harder than it needed to be. I’m sometimes sur...

Re: Games Completed 2020
I suspect the xbox one versions complicate it further, they may all be running on the same engine version as each other (I certainly can’t see any significant visual differences between 0 and k1 on my xbox)

Re: Games Completed 2020
I went into Kiwami 1 not long after finishing 0, but after a day or two I realised I needed more of a gap to properly enjoy it.
I’m aware that I don’t know how long 0, k1 and k2 will stay in gamepass though, so I suspect I’ll go back to k1 fairly soon.

Re: Exclusives of the generation?
Nearly all of my favourite games this generation are available across 2 or more platforms, makes this quite a hard list to make. I’d say Sunset Overdrive is probably my favourite xbox exclusive though, not sure what I’d pick for PS4. Probably Horizon at the moment. But you have to disregard PC relea...

Re: Favourites that have waned
Ocarina of Time is up there for me. Absolutely stunning in its day, but it does nothing that later zelda games haven’t done better, and the framerate with those mushy n64 visuals feels far more dated to me than Link to the past does. (I actually find a lot of ps1 and n64 games really hard to go back...

Yakuza 0, Kiwami and Kiwami 2 are all on the XBO now, but I guess they still mostly count as ps exclusives.

Re: Microsoft Xbox news and discussion thread
I think a lot of big games that were announced for fourth quarter will slip. Those that were past content lock and were just into bug fixing probably won’t be overly affected by Covid, but anything that was further out than that will suffer (and the amount to which they do will depend on how good th...

Xbox’s big summer sale is live. It appears to be mostly stuff that’s been on sale before, though I am tempted by that price drop on River City Girls.
Also, for under a fiver, is Mass Effect Andromeda worth a play?

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Slime Climb in Fallguys is pretty much the only race stage where you have to be patient. I still haven’t finished it yet though. Got to the final ramp to the finish, so I was past every obstacle, but one guy was standing near the finish rugby tackling people off the edge for fun and I didn’t realise...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Gone back to Cross Code after finishing Ghost of Tsushima, and the plot has really started to thicken now. It’s a pretty challenging game, some of the puzzles have had me stumped for longer than this kind of thing usually does.
