Re: Dyad

Never even heard of it until I saw this thread, so I Googled it and OMG WANT!

I was a huge fan of both Rez and Space Giraffe and this looks almost like the bastard son of them both. Looking forward to it!

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

I watched a documentary called The Bridge which was about the 24 people who committed suicide in 2004 by jumping of The Golden Gate Bridge! It would be fair to say that it was Heavy and Heartbreaking stuff but it did highlight just how many tormented souls there are out there, Seeing both family an...

I replayed Half Life quite recently. It hasn't aged that well.

Re: Game Suggestions for the Podcast

Psychonauts would be good.

Also, what about a three part 'Mario Game series' looking at SMB on the NES right through to Galaxy 2 on the Wii!

Is Lost actually any good? I bought it because I loved the show so much but never actually played it yet!

Re: Games completed 2012

Er, nowhere near as many as you guys!

Infamous 2
Saints Row 2
Deus Ex : HR
Crysis
Uncharted 3
Mass Effect 3
Lego Batman (co-op with my 5 year old son, it took us ages lol)
GTA IV : TBOGT

Think that's it...

Re: Your Anticipated Games of 2012

I love the Assassins Creed series, but other than that I can't think of anything at all on the horizon that excited me. Looking further in to next year, Quantic Dreams' Beyond, and obviously GTA V.

Re: Game Suggestions for the Podcast

Yeah, my own personal experience of LA Noire was as follows : 30 minutes : This game is pretty good 1 hour : This is an amazing game! So original! 3 hours : Uh, this is well boring. Just keep doing the same thing over and over. 8 hours : Oh, that's it? Bit of an anti climax. 12 hours : WTF? The stor...

Re: The Walking Dead

I've played the first episode through on the iPhone. I thought it was brilliant. Might buy the whole series on PS3 at some point. It seems like it would have decent replay value to, what with the pretty big decisions you have to make. It's almost like a graphical 'choose your own adventure' book wit...

Oh God, that little robot was annoying, haha.

I'll give Borderlands 2 a try when it comes out, sounds like they've worked on the story a little at least.

Re: Game Suggestions for the Podcast

If we ever do a Heavy Rain episode, I'm gonna have to make sure my knives are extra sharp for that particular narrative travesty! Haha I take it you weren't a fan? I thought it was good, certainly kept me guessing right up to the end. I remember lending the game to my brother one morning....

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I'm currently playing Dead Space 2 on the PS3 and Max Payne on the PC. The Max Payne replay was inspired by the C&R podcasts the other day, and before I play the third game. Dead Space 2 I'm loving. I gave up on the first one towards the end - I got so bored with it, felt it was over long and re...

Re: Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes

Ah brilliant! Cheers. I've half a mind they were also included on the GC version of Twin Snakes, but I sold my copy a long time ago and my memory is hazy at best... EDIT : Hmm, no on further investigation it seems they weren't on that disc. They must have had a 'recap' type option on the menu as I d...

Re: Half Life - Black Mesa Source

When Half Life 2 came out, an amateur dev team started building the first Half Life game, shot for shot, in the new HL2 Source engine. Early screenshots looked brilliant. This was years ago. Over the years I think the game evolved from being a straight up copy of the original Half Life in to somethi...

Re: Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes

Slightly off topic, but anyone know the best way to play the original Metal Gear games? I only ever played Metal Gear Solid, but I'm thinking I'd like to work my way through the whole series, starting with the first two and playing the rest on PS3 (MGS on PSN and then the HD collection, finishing wi...

Re: The videogame music thread - share your favourite tunes

I've spent the last couple of months listening to the Mass Effect soundtracks on Spotify. They are brilliant, as I'm sure almost everyone knows. Really good blend of orchestral and synth stuff. Some of it sounds like the old Blade Runner soundtrack. This is an amazing piece of music, rivals anything...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

My girlfriend and I started watching Breaking Bad the other night on Netflix. Only up to a couple of episodes in to season 2, but loving it so far. The last thing I watched was Once Upon A Time, which I really liked. I've been in a bit of a TV limbo since Lost finished, trying to find something to f...
