Re: DiRT Rally

Definitely interested in this! I've put quite a lot of time into Codemaster racers over the last few years, and although I didn't like the 'dude' tone of Dirt, I did find the handling fun for the most part. I'm really looking forward to some proper rallying, there were 'trailblazers' in Dirt 3 that ...

Re: Improving fighting game defence

That ebook looks great, I've put it on my iPad to work my way through, thanks!

Yeah, I watched a few evo fights a while back, but I didn't even know as little as I do now  I'll go back and check out some YouTube channels :)

Improving fighting game defence

I've playing some Street Fighter IV and Injustice and have focused in on a couple of characters. I'm finally getting the hang of some combos and timing my attacks, but I find defending really hard. Often getting rushed or cheesed by someone using a very effective attack. I've heard of things like 'b...

Wow, that's cool. Thanks for the heads up. I've been meaning to get a Horizon game for ages and never got around to it.

Re: Videogame Deals

Thanks, I'll take a look there, hadn't thought of that.

It is, and to me seems totally counter productive. Bigger cards might mean people get more games, or use their Vita more because everything they might want is to hand. It is a Sony legacy though, their memory cards have always been ridiculous.

Re: Videogame Criticism

I really liked some of the stuff Shawn Elliott talked about way back on the GFW podcasts. They used to goof around for most of their shows, which was really funny, but occassionaly he would lock into a subject and totally take a game apart (good and bad). He ended up making the switch to development...

Re: Videogame Deals

Does anyone know a place that does PS Vita memory cards without requiring a mortgage?

I'd love a 64, but I think a 32 is more realistic!

Do you think it is being pulled for people that own it but don't have it downloaded to their device? That's a really weird area for digital distribution.

Re: Battlefield 4

It definitely feels very futuristic! Thinking when you drop supplies for your team something is actually happening in a live multiplayer map is really cool. I haven't played loads of it, but a few times I have been a commander when the other team hasn't had one, and it does feel like you give your t...

Re: WiiU Co-op For Kids

The lego games seem to have pretty good local co-op. I think there are a couple of those on Wii-U?

Re: Alien: Isolation

Just finished this. I loved it, but the game fucking ended on a QTE!! What the fuck. There must have been another way to get Amanda floating space other that a twatty sequence of button prompts which when completed, still resulted in 'death'. Other that that though, I genuinely enjoyed the experien...

Re: Videogame Deals

Theres currently a pretty good selection of deals on the playstation store as part of the Vita's 3rd anniversary, lots of big titles in there, including both Danganronpa games, Disgaea 4, Dragon's Crown, Persona 4 Golden and Tearaway. The full list can be found here http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2...

Re: BAFTA Games Awards

I guess they have to detach the technical problems from the artistic intent for that category. Shouldn't really penalise the designers for issues in the engine, but yeah it does feel weird when it came out so broken!

Re: BAFTA Games Awards

Looks like a good set of nominations. Do they put together a highlights video or anything? Rufus Hound is presenting, hopefully he has some interest in games and doesn't just do the 'I played Mario when I was a kid' thing.

That list has made me realise how behind I am with 2014 games though! :S
