Re: Gaming as a parent / raising little gamers

^^^^That's great, you also have an office at home? I remember when my daughter was a year or two. At the time I didn't play many games in front of her, but I one time sat down and played through the ending of Super Mario Galaxy and she was sitting besides me, not being able to keep her widened eyes ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Yesterday I treated myself to that lovely Switch hard copy bundle with artbook of Sonic Mania Plus and I'm freakin' loving it. I've always had some issues with even the '90s Sonic games, with nothing ever topping the first one on MD for me, but this one just might make me truly fall in love with 2D ...

^^^^ That's so cool. I'm happy to see it's doing well, too!
Joshihatsumitsu wrote: September 18th, 2018, 11:31 pm I know there was also an Xbox and PS2 release of Psyvariar 2, as well as the Dreamcast, but I wasn't sure if those releases were Japanese only, or if there was a PAL version?
All Japan-only, I'm afraid.

16-09 Def Jam Fight for NY (Xbox)

First time I played through the story mode on the Xbox version and it was enjoyable as always.

^^^^ For sure, and I think Psyvariar 2 also looks the part. The boss bullet patterns in that game are mesmerising.

Re: Psyvariar Delta (Grazing danmaku)

Nice write-up. I’ve got the PS2 release and what I find most extraordinary is how a simple thing like the buzz mechanic profoundly changes the way you look at bullet curtains; rather than something that is only there to be feared, you see them as power up and scoring opportunities and it really moti...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I'm about halfway through The Wonderful 101. At its best, this is an adorable game bustling with charm and ingenuity that completely commits to its idiosyncratic premise and offers a truly one-of-a-kind experience to the dedicated player. At its worst, it's a piece of jank full of gimmicky sections...

Thanks for the feedback, guys! Much appreciated.

Also, Simonsloth... your impressive record of playing along with the show is not going unnoticed. :)

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Don't mean to pile on mr. Flabyo here at all, really (and I'm somewhere in the middle of this ongoing debate in that given the choice I prefer physical, but I'm not opposed to downloadable at all if handled right), but I also don't think everyone that's an advocate for physical media is being smug a...

Re: Luigi's Mansion 2/Dark Moon

Wonderful post. I need to get back into this one. At the time I was a bit disappointed with the multiple mansion approach, as I missed the backtracking and exploration of the first game, but this has its own strength, with a wider variety of environments. One thing I do truly sorely miss is the more...
