Child of Light
Child of Light
On paper an attempt at a Japanese style turn based RPG from Ubisoft sounds like a bad idea.
But when you see and hear it...
It's out on the 30th.

I think this looks really cool and Im really looking foward to it since Im kinda of getting back together with JRPGs you could say, this is also a great precedent for the industry in general since it's from the same team from Far cry 3 I believe it's kinda of like having them do a project that they had too to make money and them allowing them to make a passion project they want to do,hopefully this will be a success and a catalyst for more stuff like this.
Re: Child of Light
It's Japanese in style and turn based. I am DISGUS--- Oh, OH! Yes please!
Re: Child of Light
The dialogue is written entirely in rhyme.
You have no idea how much that makes me want this game.

Re: Child of Light
This one certainly caught my eye. I'm curious to see what it turns out to be.
Re: Child of Light

What platform would you like to get it on?chase210 wrote:I want the boxed copy, but thats only available in limited edition form. Hmmmm.
Re: Child of Light
PS4 if possible.

As far as I can tell, the boxed copy is actually called a "Deluxe Edition", which doesn't suggest limited to me. The retail version of Trials Fusion (another Ubisoft release) also uses this moniker. The retail version is a download code in a box (for both the PS3 and PS4 versions) with some other gubbins.

Re: Child of Light
The boxed version looks quite tempting, and it's only £15...

Re: Child of Light
Played a couple hours of it today and i'm completely hooked on it. It has just the right balance of RPG for me. Never leaning too heavily on anything to do with game mechanics and has a very interesting and enjoyable combat system.
The one area they do lean heavily on is the aesthetic. It is magical.
I can see RPG lovers being somewhat disappointed by this but as someone like myself who enjoys the genre when it's scaled down ever so slightly (Paper Mario, South Park) I am finding it exceeding my expectations.

That's exactly what I needed to hear. Wasn't sure how heavy the RPG element would be but I'll definitely be picking it up now.dezm0nd wrote:I can see RPG lovers being somewhat disappointed by this but as someone like myself who enjoys the genre when it's scaled down ever so slightly (Paper Mario, South Park) I am finding it exceeding my expectations.
Re: Child of Light
I absolutely adore this game. 10/10, best game I've played this year so far. The fact its coming to the vita means I'l get to play it again
Re: Child of Light
Is Child of Light another "RPG-lite" like people were describing South Park: SoT as earlier this year (I don't like the phrase but the idea seems welcome)? Is the poetic dialogue detrimental to the experience of the game at all or is it well implemented? Does this being a ten to twelve hour experience tie in with other people's experiences?
