Super Ghouls and Ghosts - One Credit Clear

Post by OneCreditBen »

Hey guys.

I've had such an awesome response from everyone on this forum I thought I post my latest video up, because it's a bit of a beast, and also I wanted to say thanks to everyone for checking out the channel and subscribing. I've had a massive increase of subscribers since my interview went out here so I just wanted to say it's much obliged and that I hope you enjoy this video if you've not already seen it!

I get that a lot.
I'm like the retrogaming version of Larry David.

Larry David as a UFC judge could be an interesting episode.

I was like "yeah yeah I can do this, yeah I've done this before" right up until the frigging true final boss! Figuring out his patterns must have taken quite a few tries!

Ironically it was a good cup of tea that helped me beat Sardius. On my practice runs I was dying a lot because I was trying to get every single platform and getting hit more often than not. I died and decided that I'd make a drink and didn't realise I had an extra life left. I watched the final boss play out while I was making a cup of tea and realised that my approach was all wrong. I needed to employ more patience because in the time that it had taken me to make this tea, I'd only seen maybe 2 patterns that looked safe and I started to notice the difference. I killed him easily on the next take.

Moral of the Story?
Drink tea. It's what the British Empire was built upon. Also Slavery but let's not dwell on that.

I played this recently at the arcades and getting on for thirty years after I first played it, I got no further. I probably lasted about a minute.

Absurd achievement. Bravo.

It should be said that Super is very much its own game and completely different to the arcade original (which was ported to Mega Drive).

The difficulty is commensurate however and so the point remains!

I'll try that next time I make a serious attempt at cracking a tough one!

Thank you and funnily enough I've been playing Ghouls and Ghosts this evening.
The timing is massively different on account of their being no double jumps and the weapon mechanics are a little clunky but I had a good time having a run through a few levels. Who knows, maybe next season...

Working on another game in this series at the moment.
If all goes well, and I don't throw myself under a train with these cheap deaths, it should be out next Wednesday!

A bit of a rarer version of the franchise with some interesting gameplay mechanics, but still nice and challenging!

I've already started progress running the arcade version for next season.
It's amazingly addictive.
