Hi all,
Just found this fascinating blog and thought I'd share - someone has spent the last 6 or 7 years playing through a load of old adventure games from 1977 through to 1992... writing about each step of the game with screenshots.

After discussion on this week's Sound Of Play about the Police Quest Games, you can find walkthroughs and information about them here.
Police Quest 3 specifically is written about in a series of posts here:

Incase anyone was interested in reading up for education or nostalgic reasons!
Classic Adventure Game Walkthroughs

...and having read a bit more of those PQ3 posts, it's somewhat relieving to read that the teenage version of this chap back in the 90's got stuck at the exact same point I did!

Also for fans of classic adventures, there's a compilation of NES games Déjà Vu, Shadowgate and Uninvited out now across most popular formats for around £8 or equivalent:

I also really enjoyed this title on Kindle, a nice history of the genre in bitesize reviews (I don't know if it involved any of the same contributors as the link in the OP, possibly!)

Made me nostalgic to go hunt some of these down again. While everyone else was playing Sonic and Mario as a kid I was deep into the world of adventure games.

Good deal there, thanks. I heard great things about that book.

Also, in the bottom left of the blog originally linked by Nick, there's a link to The Digital Antiquarian blog, which I'd meant to post on here for a while, but didn't have a suitable thread in which to do it.
That article I linked to discusses The Hobbit, but if you go back or forward from that page, you have entries on the Speccy, the C64, the original Elite, all sorts of interesting stuff about a certain time and place in gaming. Probably only of interest to children of the Eighties and Nineties, but worth checking out.
