Looks like Wii U pre-orders are about to take a sharp upturn :D

Monster Hunter and Dragon Quest were going to seal the deal in Japan while the 720 and PS4 took their time coming out anyway; but this is definitely going to be a significant boon in the Western world.

Guess I should get my hands on a copy of Bayonetta, then.

Dear Sega,
If you've made Bayonetta 2 a Wii-U exclusive, I'll be a bit pissed off.

Sega have nothing to do with this as it's published by Nintendo.

Yup, Nintendo got their money out and are making it possible. Good on them.

As excited as I would be for Bayonetta 2 (and I bloody love Bayonetta), £300 for it and a Wii U just ain't gonna happen.
I'm glad it's happening. But damn, of all the games to get as an exclusive. Gutted.

Yeah, I'm not about to pay $350 for Bayonetta 2, but, alas, that's what exclusives are for.

Shame it's not a Kamiya joint, though.

Resi 4 started off as a GameCube exclusive so bide your time. Bet it's out on Xbox/ps3 within a year.

Er... Resi 4 was published by Capcom though, so there was always that possibility. Bayonetta 2 is published by Nintendo, so there's no chance of it happening.

Ah ok fair enough presumed it'd be Sega. Ninty must've bought it off Sega.

While we're on the subject, has a previously multi-platform game ever went exclusive?

Either I'm having a big brain-fart, or, this is really the only instance I can think of this happening.

That's a great gaming trivia question. I have a feeling it's happened before but I couldn't tell you what.

I was planning on getting a Wii U anyway but this doesn't hurt any. However a different director might mean a different, possibly inferior game.

I think Platinum have proved to be a pretty great team under who ever commands them. Bayonetta and Vanquish are among my favourites, and everything I've seen "gameplay wise" from Metal Gear Rising looks promising, as does Anarchy Reigns and Wonderful 101. I have confidence.

Bayonetta 2 trailer. It's just a CG teaser, no gameplay

Very similar to the first's announcement trailer

Yusuke Hashimoto has credits in four prior games: Devil May Cry, God Hand, Street Fighter IV and Bayonetta.
So yeah. That'll do it for me.

Wii U fund has been officially opened.

Well, it certainly adds incentive. As of right now, I want a WiiU for this and NSMBU.

This will definitely help Wii U get off the ground but as DomsBeard said, give it a year & it will be multiplatform. Platinum have never really set the retail charts alight with their previous excellent games so why would they narrow their sales base anymore than it already is?
