Well worth a go that folks. It's rough around the edges and graphically no beauty but once you are on the learning curve it's a super rewarding game.
+1 for this. It's an incredible game, and if it hits the sweet spot for you, it's sheer bliss.

The original Witcher is 1.19 Euros on Steam at the moment, if anyone fancies playing it for the upcoming podcast. Other good Witcher deals too.

Strangely enough, I probably enjoyed #1 the best out of the three of them, but I think it was more to do with my own developing tastes rather than it being that good.

Edit: probably doesn't need to be said to get the Enhanced Edition, which is cheaper than the standard edition anyway.

Still worth a play, but some parts of the original Witcher have not aged so well. Also it's a very 'PC' game. Which may not suit every one. But at that price.. not much of a risk! :)

Just be aware, the NeoGeo games on GOG are the very same DotEmu ports found on Steam. There have been numerous reports of sound glitches and other bugs across several of the ones I've looked at. Perhaps best to check user reviews on GOG.com or Steam before eagerly picking any of these up. :geek:

Yes - best stick with Hamster's ACA Neo-Geo releases for PS4, XO and Switch if you can (or MAME).

Just a heads-up but this days of play sale thing seems to at least be spreading to the uk so expect deals on ps plus, Nioh and pads amongst other things. Personally a £28 Nioh sounds good with Horizon already being that price having gone live a bit early!

Both Game and Amazon seem to be price matching some of the 'days of play' sales items.

Going to pop into town at lunch, see if the physical Game store is doing Horizon for thirty quid or not...

[edit] they are! It appears Game is officially part of the same promotion that's running on the PlayStation online store. Horizon Get! Might get to it before the autumn... my backlog is getting pretty immense.

Starfox Guard is currently less than five quid here. It's probably the box with a download code but still... bargain!

Rebel Galaxy is really good if you like that particular type of ARPG. I enjoyed it a lot. I picked up Event[0] which I'm looking forward to.

Separately, I'm gonna wait on Horizon Zero Dawn. While pretty much everyone I know has raved about it, I can't reconcile what I've read about it - as regards gameplay and mechanics - to the stonking good time everyone is having. It doesn't add up for me at the moment :?

Event[0] is a fascinating game. Very unique. Well worth a few playthroughs.

If anyone was looking for an Akai Katana PCB, G-Front in Japan currently has one selling for a mere $1800 US:
