I've added Rule of Rose to the spreadsheet, though it could be a tricky one to organise.

I remembver Rule of Rose was tricky to get hold of when it was released.
Have enough people played it or even heard of it?

I heard great things but couldnt find one anywhere. Got a reputation that its really freaky though. Maybe I'll watch a Let's Play on YT. lol
Yeah, that's what I did, watched a LP on YouTube because a) it was on PS2 and I didn't have a PS2 at the time b) it was hard to get a hold of and c) again, too much of a wuss to play it myself :P. I don't think it was ever actually released in the UK.

I suppose it could be emulated, or the only other way would be to watch a LP of it. I had a look on ebay and they're all ridiculously expensive :/

I remember this game and the ensuing controversy that engulfed it.

I think it's safe to say that any game where we could only watch a video of a play-through would be pretty much ruled out of ever having a show of it's own. Understandably, a video would only offer one perspective of the potential variations within its gameplay and wouldn't offer much insight into how the mechanics actually "feel".

It did seem to be available via emulation though, although the mentions I found of it were from 3 years ago.

Still, it's on the list so if enough of us find it and play it, you never know.

I've been playing a lot of The Darkness recently, and I think it would be a good one for the podcast. There's definitely a lot to talk about and it's somewhat of a cult classic.

Episodes on the Fable series would be interesting. I can certainly think of some things to say on those games.

Not sure there's a whole lot left to cover on it if we were to do a second show on The Darkness!

Huh. I missed that episode completely. That's strange. Or maybe it's just my memory being terrible again. I think I would have remembered the episode if I had listened. Oh well. Something to listen to in the future.

Haha, I think that's happened to many people. Can't expect people to remember every game we've covered. Hope you enjoy it, as you said, there's plenty to talk about!

An interesting one might be Miasmata, which came out on PC before Xmas.

Interesting aspects of the game include:

A new take on survival horror
Unique game mechanics like having to map your surroundings
Game was created entirely (including game engine) by two brothers
Various physical and psychological handicaps coming into play

It's the best game I've played this year, though I appreciate some people will bounce off it hard.

It's one that's on my Steam Wishlist and as soon as I have a PC able to play it, or am at a friends long enough to play it on theirs that I'm going to buy it.

Nice! There's quite a lot in it that only becomes apparent once you start playing, so it'll be interesting to see what you guys make of it.

Mass Effect 3 now all the dlc has been done. Tons to say about that both positive and negative.

System Shock 2 is now on steam! (under a fiver at the mo').
Its old and iconic enough that everyone's either heard of it or played of it. Plus we all love Bioshock so lets go back to the start while we wait for the Infinite review...
