Has Plague Inc. been suggested? I think it's an interesting, though breakable game.

Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon for the N64! What a game that was. One of my favourite games and one of the most memorable soundtracks. Even after so many years I can imagine any part of the game and hum/whistle the music for that area. The whole game is pure quirky Japanese...ness.

I’ve little expectation with this post but definitely worth a play if anyone hasn’t played it.

I'm sure they're on the list but I'd love a show on Ikaruga and Radiant Silvergun at some point.

Also, some Neo Geo belters - Garou: MOTW, The Last Blade and the Samurai Shodown series. I enjoyed the brief KoF chat during the Ryan Hart interview, it's a series I've only ever dipped my toe into, but that series might make a good show, too.

I also think the Psikyo shooters would make for a good overview type show, given how similar they all are.

^^^^ We were also half-joking about doing a KOF issue on the Capcom vs. series one... or at least encouraging James to play them, from what I remember. I would actually love to do that. Big fan of SS1 and 2, as well.

More shoot 'em ups is always something I can get behind.

I remember that, actually, now you mention it. I've hardly played any beyond KoF98 but I'd be interested in where else to go in the series.

I'll keep my fingers crossed then and see what happens!

As an aside, Gary and Kole from Watch Out For Fireballs did a show on Ikaruga and Jamestown not so long ago and it was interesting that they hated the former but really enjoyed the latter. They're not shmup fans at all so it made for a really interesting episode, as much as I don't share their opinions and impressions.

Added Plague Inc./Evolved to the list.

Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon (Ganbare Goemon: Neo Momoyama Bakufu no Odori) is already on the list though I shall add the SNES game.

Ikaruga and Radiant Silvergun are of course both on the list, as are a ton of Neo Geo games.

A Psikyo shmups show isn't a bad idea.

I cant see it mentioned already, so I'll suggest Psi Ops, with its judicious use of ragdoll physics. Also, the Sundering series.

Psi-Ops has always been on the list (as has Second Sight).

Could you give me a bit more info about this 'Sundering' please?

So, it turns out that I misremembered the name of the game, and it was actually The Suffering. However thanks for mentioning Second Sight, as I couldnt remember for the life of me what other mind controlly game I played back in the day. :-)

Aha, ok. That’s on GOG too. Will add.

Edit: The Suffering was in fact already on there. There isn't that much of note that isn't at this stage tbh.

Surprisingly, given that it's a PlatinumGame, that wasn't on the list!
It is now.

Has there been a Virtual On episode?

(inspired by the recently released trailer for Override: Mech City Brawl)

Thumper, maybe? It may not be able to provide quite enough discussion material to cover an entire show all by itself, but I think it might be an interesting choice regardless.

Assault Android Cactus comes to mind as well. And if the Yakuza games aren't already on the list, I would suggest Zero as a one-off.

All on the list already .

Thumper would absolutely make a whole show by itself, no problem at all.

I know it’s on the list but I’d like to see the Metroid series covered in the same depth as Zelda I.e including crazy spinoffs as well as the main entries.

Yes, I agree with Simon. A Metroid series in the same vein as Zelda or RE would be amazing.
