Oh yeah I’m terms of the dev teams it’s totally seperate. I just thought that at last Sega has clearly recognised that what makes Sonic great and resonate is this classic/Mania style gameplay, so has that recognition had an effect on Forces development on some level or are we back to square one.

It’s certainly taking influence from Generations which is a good start (which in itself was a sign of Sega at least partially ‘getting it’) but there do look to be a lot of same old mistakes wrapped up in there as well.

I see what you're saying, my point being that this year the Sonic Forces devs won't have had any time to implement anything significant that wasn't in the pre-production documents for Forces - which would have been around long before Mania was known to have been a success.

Whatever Forces is meant to be will have been locked in before Mania was released, although it is possible that if Sonic Team was playing Mania in pre-production they may have cribbed some ideas from it I guess.

There's a demo available, of course. It's meant to be quite shite, unfortunately.

Lots of temptations this week! LEGO and Battlefront especially, but The Sims and LA Noire are also tempting.

Pokémon is, obviously, already pre-ordered.

A replay of LA Noire with achievements this time (Had it on Playstation last gen) could well be a fun thing!

Not strictly a video game, but you do need an Apple or android device to play it, Harmonix’s collaboration with Hasbro ‘DropMix’ is out in the Uk this week.

The tech in it fascinates me, it feels a bit like ‘magic’, but I doubt it has a lot of long term play value in it.

Tempted anyway, I do love fancy tech.

I'm over indulging in Pokemon and Skyrim!

I see Battlefront is doing EA PR all sorts of favours so far. Maybe I'll wait for the dust to settle on that one before I commit.

I've just noticed that de Blob has appeared in the latest releases on PSN (AU). Didn't even realise it was coming to PS4...

Rocket League on Switch is as brilliant as you might expect. Pretty flawless in handheld and a superb fit. Just had two cracking games on the bog. Nice shot!

Straight into the top ten Switch titles. Gutted I've got to go to work.

And here I was, trying to think of a good concept and title for a podcast. Thanks!

Was super excited about Rime on Switch but every review so far suggests it's borderline unplayable. What a shame, seemed a perfect fit for the system.

Videogame-adjacent, but iam8bit's Rare vinyls have gone up for pre-order today at quite reasonable prices.

https://store.iam8bit.co.uk/collections/vinyl

I've bagged the Viva Piñata one. Sad that Grant Kirkhope only found out this existed last week via Twitter, though...

Oof, that's a bit of a weird one for him to find out like that. I love the look of them but I can't justify it right now. I'll just have to admire them from afar :)

I don't even have a vinyl player, so I really can't justify it! Oh well :D
