 In the first of a six podcast series dedicated to the core games of the Super Mario canon Leon, Darren Gargette, James and Karl recollect the athletic plumber's first flurry of success in Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, Super Mario Bros. 2 and Super Mario Bros. 3. We also share some of your Mario memories from the forum as well as a smattering of Three Word Reviews.

Heathen! You can only play that on a 14" portable CRT!!

Wish I'd remembered to post for this show, I was lucky enough to win a NES with TMNT bundled in and owned/played all the Mario's on the NES. Loving the show so far.

Thought I'd try and pick up off eBay the SNES cart that has Super Mario World and Mario All-Stars on the same cart, for when I pick up a Retron 5.

I tell you something, SNES games are FAR more expensive on eBay than Megadrive ones. Even when they're cart only. I've picked up 20 loose Megadrive carts for how much that loose Mario one went for...

Was it ever mentioned on the podcast that John Carmack, John Romero and the Gamer's Edge crew made a PC version of Super Mario Bros. 3?

They even sent a version of it to Nintendo and asked them if they could port it to the PC.
