Oops, ended up being a 7pm thing. Might pop in soon though

Got a nice little 4 man lobby on right now, 4 slots free. Drop me a message for an invite.

8-player lobbies... the luxury! Dark Souls III is eating all of my gaming time, but I'm looking forward to giving Alex a whirl. At least with new characters I'll have a little more of an excuse for my poor, poor performance.

Ditto, I like the idea of Birdie but I'm not sure I have the patience for him. I really like Nash but Ryu and Ken are so familiar.

I treated myself to the guide book on an impulse purchase today.

Having had a look at the moves and the characters' pros and cons I reckon I'm going to give both Necalli and Rashid a try.
They were both recommended to me on Twitter also.

Would you recommend the book?

I don't know how anyone else feels about the character roster and the release method of characters, I quite like it. It doesn't seem as overwhelming as in the previous games and with one character released a month it might mean I am more inclined to put some effort into learning different characters. I am one of those who are guilty of sticking to the Hado characters because they are comfortable to use.

The frame data will become outdated pretty quickly as the game patches, although they've said there's no major patching planned until after year 1 they'll fix things that are broken (they've already made a change to wake-up jump timing with this most recent update as it lead to an option select that wasn't intended.)

I think there's a version of the book that has a digital app that they said will be kept up to date with patch changes?

That's right. The frame data is beyond me anyway.

It's hype spotting up in Scotland this weekend, the streetfighter 5 pools are already well underway. One of a small number of uk tournaments that are on the pro tour this year, so points are at stake.

I'm considering trying to learn Mika, some of the matches I'm seeing with her show me that I really didn't get how she was meant to be played when I tried.

I'm trying out Mika and Nash at the moment, looking for some match practice if anybody's free. Mika is so much fun :D

I've got the guide and found it helpful as I'm still sticking with Laura.

She's still fun to play as, I've yet to try anyone else.

I have appalling track records against Nash and Birdie but apart from that alright.

The rematch for best of 3 is great as I've come back to win 2 after losing the first a lot.

I've just picked this up. Didn't realise there was cross platform play!? Does it work? My Capcom name is magicjoef.

I've never been any good at combos in Street Fighter games, so I'm going to try and work through some in training mode as my first task.

Guys. Convince me not to trade SFV in.

I haven't popped it in in a week or so, and, even then, I was getting kinda flustered by not being able to get out of Bronze. Feeling like I'm just not that good, and, don't really have the time or commitment to get much better.

It's perhaps worth hanging onto if you're curious about the single player DLC in June.

It really is a big time sink though. Did you try out some new characters when you were frustrated with Chun a while back? Finding a main you properly click with is half the battle, I think.

Maybe a more gimmicky character like Laura (<3) or Rashid would suit you better? If you want to give it one last push, maybe watch some videos, copy some tactics and setups, see if anything sticks?

Yeah, I think it's maybe time to let Chun go. I'll keep it around for a while longer.

Convincing reason? Set a time for a tournament and we can see what happens, I'm free from now to Sunday (hopefully).

Was hoping for a crest to come along to get some folk back onboard with this brilliant game but with Urien come and gone I'm taking my chance anyway.

Anybody in for this weekend?
