“You cannot overcome suffering if you refuse to look at it.”
Following up previous podcasts on Heavenly Sword, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West and DmC Devil May Cry, the Cane and Rinse team turns its attentions to Ninja Theory’s most recent offering to the gaming gods – Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. Leon, Leah, Jon and Tony share whether or not Tameem Antoniades’ tale of suffering and psychosis spoke to them metaphorically as well as literally. We also hear from the Cane and Rinse community, which provides some particularly powerful insight into the subject matter and the game’s capacity to move and teach.
Music used in this issue:
1. Main Theme by David García and Andy LaPlegua
2. Main Menu Theme by David García and Andy LaPlegua
Cane and Rinse 338 was edited by Sean O'Brien.
Each issue of The Cane and Rinse podcast is available a week early through our Patreon for just $1 a month

Would have probably given this a miss if it hadn't appeared on the list this year. I'm glad I didn't. Both the game and then the podcast, have led me down an internet rabbit hole to find out more about the game, the historical setting and of course the themes. A superb inclusion to the list and a great episode.
