Re: Forum Changelog and Forum Suggestions
...Is this new forum style here to stay? If so, what exactly was wrong with the old one?
Re: Forum Changelog and Forum Suggestions
Now I hate change, but I'm liking this new style. Are we able to switch in the settings if we want to?
EDIT: much as I quite like the new style, I think I preferred the old one. Just prefer the darker background.

Re: Forum Changelog and Forum Suggestions
This is currently a WiP. The old theme was broken by no longer supporting updates to the software.
Jay is beavering away on the assets, colouring and so on, but the theme will remain different to how it was (it's the same forum software though).

Okay, thanks for clarifying!
I liked the old theme a lot. Fingers crossed that Jay will manage to recapture some of the ancient magic.

Re: Forum Changelog and Forum Suggestions
I really like the layout and the font etc, it looks really crisp.
Re: Forum Changelog and Forum Suggestions
FWIW, I think the current look is cool. Fresh, smart and clean.
I've changed forum software versions myself and the headache involved in keeping everything together and working is considerable.

Re: Forum Changelog and Forum Suggestions
I really appreciate all the work that goes into running this place and I think the new forum looks smart. I'd probably switch to a darker theme if and when one might arrive but I'll get what I'm given. Only thing I would like is a New Posts button. Am I being thick or is that not a feature on the new software? Not complaining, mind, just looking for a pointer.

Links not licks!
Re: Forum Changelog and Forum Suggestions
The raggedy borders around the emoticons against the dark background bothered me, so I'm very happy, personally.

I must be blind, but is there a link to the actual CaR website anywhere on the new forum? There used to be several shortly after the design change, but I can't seem to find any now...

Re: Forum Changelog and Forum Suggestions
There is now. Top left corner click on the 'Cane and Rinse' and that'll take you to the homepage on the website.KSubzero1000 wrote: ↑April 9th, 2017, 7:55 am I must be blind, but is there a link to the actual CaR website anywhere on the new forum? Re: Forum Changelog and Forum Suggestions
Oh, cool. And now there's the "Cane and Rinse < Forum home" double link which solves everything. Thanks!

Cheers Stex! Still got some changes to implement but it's getting there.
Re: Forum Changelog and Forum Suggestions
I had a little break from my favourite podcast (and any podcasts altogether ) and when i logged in today ... what a surprise. Im really digging this new slick look, its definitelly up to todays web standards and looks great on mobile. Only suggestion i could make is something Alex mentioned earlier ... i also prefer darker themes since its easier on my eyes.
edit: i noticed one issue with present colour scheme. I cant really tell which notifications i already visited, i dont see clear difference in colour between them.
