South Coast Meet Up
Re: South Coast Meet Up
Hi Folks,
I had the idea of a meetup after seeing some posts on twitter/instagram today, and found this post on the forum from a few years back.
Was anything ever arranged?
Feels like an annual "Cane&Rinse-con" could have legs
Nick.

Re: South Coast Meet Up
There’s a video game cafe in Brighton now.
https://loading.bar/sidequest/
Not sure how big it is.
London much better for me and obviously has best travel connections for all areas. Brighton a short drive too though so up for either.

That’s where we went for the Eurogamer Pub Quiz, it’s pretty large, with lots of booths set up with consoles.Simonsloth wrote: ↑May 17th, 2018, 5:16 pm There’s a video game cafe in Brighton now.

I'll come if Chopper's coming. And I'll bring my boxing gloves if he's bringing his.
Should be fun!

Count me in. Even though the south is like a foreign country to a Yorkshireman like me...
Guess I'll have to bring my HEV suit.

Haha! A meetup is a great idea. I don't think I'd be able to attend this year but I'd love to see it happen on a semi-regular basis.KSubzero1000 wrote: ↑May 17th, 2018, 5:58 pm I'll come if Chopper's coming. And I'll bring my boxing gloves if he's bringing his.

Edit: looking through the thread it would be great if it could happen just once to start with

Re: South Coast Meet Up
I feel like this is similar to the Game Nights in that folks love to get hyped up about the idea until the practical side of things kicks in and then bail out at the last minute.
Honestly, I'd consider it if I could coincide the trip with some other stuff on my end, but I'll wait and see if a critical mass of those without international travelling arrangements can get the ball rolling first.
Alternatively, let's all meet in Australia to save Joshi the trip. Fair's fair. Plus the local temperatures must probably be lovely at the moment...

I've said it before man, you're more than welcome to stay at my house should you need a place to rest.
I'm 30 minutes from Stansted airport and we can travel down to Brighton in my car .

Sounds beyond awesome, mate. Now for the others to catch up and for a favourable opportunity to present itself, and I might just take you up on that.

Re: South Coast Meet Up
Rather than pick an arbitrary date why not choose an occasion e.g Resident evil 2 remake launch?
Re: South Coast Meet Up
Could be a good excuse to travel down if there's a launch of a big game to coincide with it
Re: South Coast Meet Up
Wasn’t part of any meet up but at EGX had a fair few people come say hello to me yesterday which is always a surprise and a delight!
There’s definitely merit to having our faces out there at the larger events. Might have to make it regular.

So Nick/Suits/owner of more GameCube controllers than is legally allowed when are you going to share your spoils with us?
I think of you every time your mate Retrohunter sends me an egg on Pokemon GO. It’s funny as I’m going to be near his shop at some point in Feb so I was thinking of popping in, buying a game then saying thanks for the Pokemon whilst winking as I left leaving him incredibly confused.
