Re: What's Out This Week?
Yeah Immortality looks interesting. Still not played Telling Lies so might try that first as I think it's also on Gamepass.
Lego Brawls is interesting, I read an article that said it's a F2P game on all formats, which blatantly isn't true. I wonder if they planned to release it free to play then decided not to, but I'm not sure a Lego take on Smash is going to set the world on fire.

Re: What's Out This Week?
Splatoon 3 will likely be the only game I buy at/near launch this year. I'm only worried that the 200 hours I played the second game for has left me all Splatoon'd out.

Re: What's Out This Week?
My teenage son is very much into Splatoon so he's picking up 3 this Friday. I have already been informed of the changes from the second game and I only understood about 40% of the conversation.
Apparently, three team battles are rubbish.

Re: What's Out This Week?
Hah, I could get really excited for some game releases back in my teens too, GTA: Vice City comes to mind.
Ah, I guess he was also on Team Scissors during the test. Nintendo need to do some more game balancing on those battles.

Re: What's Out This Week?
Probably try You Suck At Parking and maybe Metal Hellsinger, but I didnt get on with the Crypt Of The Necrodancer and the Zelda rhythm games and it seems to share some of that DNA. Funny seeing the critically panned XIII remake turn up on Switch - would be nice if they just released the Gamecube version on there!

Re: What's Out This Week?
I presume they don't count it as a release on the other consoles as it'll be a free update. I think I enjoyed XIII at the time but couldn't tell you why.
Re: What's Out This Week?
The original? It was good, I really liked it. It was a fairly average FPS at the time, but the graphical style really carried it. We'd not seen quite so much cell shaded stuff back then so it was really striking to look at. I played a lot of it again just a couple of years back and it seemed to hold up fairly well I thought.
Re: What's Out This Week?
That's interesting! And very surprising really that they've put so much effort in to fixing it considering it can't have sold very well (I'm only assuming). Will be interesting to see how the re-re-make scores reviews-wise, if indeed anywhere does review it again.ratsoalbion wrote: ↑September 11th, 2022, 5:32 pm Re: XIII

EDIT: Just watched the video, they really have reworked those graphics! Looks a lot more like the original.

Re: What's Out This Week?
I have vague memories of picking up the PS2 XIII for a fiver, but being not that impressed with it. A few years later the original comic finally came to US shores, and seeing the characters as originally written and created made that voice cast look even more ridiculously wrong- Eve actually makes the most sense. I wanted to play the remake because I've read and enjoyed the comic greatly, despite its wild, byzantine plotting.
Then I read those reviews.
Really impressed Microids went above and beyond to fix it. Maybe someday they'll patch out that bug in Blacksad: Under the Skin that locked up the game about 45 minutes from the ending, and when I rebooted, refused to let a cinematic trigger so I could progress. And there's only one save file.

Re: What's Out This Week?
Looking forward to Monkey Island, but currently playing Curse again, so I'm hoping I might just catch the first wave of sales by the time I'm ready to play it. Don't think there's anything else that takes my fancy this week, but I noticed AC Odyssey hit Gamepass along with Deathloop, so will be getting stuck in to those.
