Well, while waiting for Breaking Bad Series 4 to come out on DVD, I've started watching True Blood. 6 episodes in to the first series, and thus far I'm enjoying it. Pretty graphic, certainly earns it's 18 rating.

It starts well, the first two seasons are great, then it falls off a cliff and turns into twilight rubbish, i gave up part way through season 4 i think!

The guy had killed his teacher earlier on and he's his dark passenger. We've taken as gospel that Dexter talking to his long dead father is normal as is seeing him on screen. Has been a poor series I think but hopefully after this the last three episodes may turn it round.

If I recall what happens correctly, it's not going to turn around. At least not all the way. The season ended on an interesting note that, at the very least, has me curious to see just how the writers are going to set up the next go 'round.

Dexter Season 6. Really disappointed with it.

My wife and I have started watching Dexter and I have to say we've been a bit disappointed. Some of the writing is really weak. I don't know, maybe we've been spoiled by Mad Men, The Sopranos and The Wire...

Yeah it's not just you, I don't think Dexter has that "can't put it down" factor like so many US drama's have. Still if it's got to Series 6 it must have a decent fanbase, so fair do's.

I think the thing with Dexter is you have to love the character. It's got better season after season until this one.

I watched the film Flowers Of War tonight and I can highly recommend it. Its the new film from Yimou Zhang (Hero/ House Of Flying Daggers) which has been released straight to DVD over here. Its a Chinese film with Christian Bale in the lead playing an American caught up in the second Sino-Japanese war. As you would expect from Zhang its a beautiful film but also very emotionally engaging.

I would caution anyone interested to avoid reading any reviews. I read two reviews prior to watching this, and both of them openly discussed the major plot development which happens in the last third of the film.
