To tie in with issue 254 of the podcast, we talk to the most successful European Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike player of all time, Ryan Hart (@RyanJosephHart)

The Prodigal Son talks to Leon and Michiel about the dawn of the fighting game community in the early 90s, from his earliest tournament experiences to success at EVO. He recounts bouts against the likes of Daigo and getting right up Justin Wong’s nose.

On top of all this we also discuss the successes and failures of SFIII as a whole, how to git gud at fighting games and how the world at large views the FGC, and ‘eSports’ in general.

An Interview with Ryan Hart was edited by Jay Taylor.

Wonderful podcast this, one of my personal favourites, great insight into the competitive fighting gaming world.

I also really appreciated his analogy of comparing being a gamer to being a musician, I'm sure a lot of people will baulk at that comparison but he had a very good point.

:)

As someone who is not into fighting games, never mind the competitive scene, this was a really informative and interesting interview. It's also a great companion to the SF3 podcast. Sorry about being late with the praise but good job guys.

Really enjoying this show, Ryan absolutely nails what I didn't like about 3 and why I didn't go back to it.
