So I'm the lucky owner a new PS5 and overall I'm really enjoying this big beautiful bastard.
There is one thing really bugging me though - the UI.
I work for a business where we design and build websites, web technologies etc, so while it's not my area of specialism personally I know a decent user interface and user experience when I see one. While I'm sure the PS5 UI will become second nature with use over time, right now it really feels like a case of style over substance with a fairly unintuitive architecture and more navs than it knows what to do with.
There's a bunch of times I've found myself thinking "where the hell is that function?", or "why won't it let me do this really simple thing?".
One such issue I've had is with the game library, and I need help...
So a question to fellow PS5 owners: Is there any way to hide or delete games from your game library?
Right now by default it shows EVERYTHING. Literally everything I've ever owned and played on PS4, whether it's installed or not, including a whole bunch of games I used to own on disc but have since sold, and even demoes such as the unplayable PT!
There must be a way of deleting or hiding these library entries. There just has to be! I like a tidy game library, not something full of everything I ever played including stuff I don't even own!
Can anyone help?!
Thanks in advance - a frustrated Greg.

Re: PS5 UI Questions
Not at the moment, but as it was a feature on PS4 I imagine it might return with a firmware update.
One oddity is that a game that I’ve never even heard of (obscure Japanese title) is showing in my library. When I click on it it takes me to the store to buy it for £50!

Re: PS5 UI Questions
This is my main problem too. Any game I have played or downloaded on ps now is on my list and I can’t delete them!
Obviously the kids had some influence on my choice so playtime with the poo yoos is forever etched onto my games library!
I’m hoping for a folder feature for help sort this chaos out

Re: PS5 UI Questions
I thought you could do it on PS4, so seemed particularly strange for something so simple to be missing here.ratsoalbion wrote: ↑November 20th, 2020, 6:14 pm Not at the moment, but as it was a feature on PS4 I imagine it might return with a firmware update.
Another strange decision - they give you the option to filter your library by platform, including PS3 (despite these being streaming-only on PS Now), PS4 and PS5. However PSVR isn’t there as an option and all those games are just marked as PS4 games with no icon or label stating they are VR games. Also if you’re going to include PS3 games then why not also have PS2 as a category, as there are 50-odd games for that platform available for purchase and download right? What are they marked as in the library at the moment? Just PS4 games I’m guessing as that’s the platform they ‘released’ on.
That’s very strange! I really hope that’s a bug and not a ham-fisted attempt at advertising games they think we might like based on our games libraries.ratsoalbion wrote: ↑November 20th, 2020, 6:14 pm One oddity is that a game that I’ve never even heard of (obscure Japanese title) is showing in my library. I hadn’t thought how much this problem would be exacerbated if you were a PS Now subscriber who tries out a bunch of games. Your library would be all other place! Same for the point about multiple people using the same profile on the one console.Simonsloth wrote: ↑November 20th, 2020, 9:54 pm This is my main problem too. Really hope they sort this out quickly. In the grand scheme of things it’s not a big job to create a decent tagging/filtering system, particularly when really there are only a handful of variables. A bit mind-boggling why it’s not present on day one really.
