Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Finally got some Carrion time on my son’s Xbox! Think I’m about three quarters through, and I just love everything about it - how it looks, how it feels, how things progress, and maybe more than anything, how it sounds - which is made all the more disturbing at points when you realise the sound has ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

After days of just trying to catch new bugs and fish in Animal Crossing, I’m now getting my money’s worth out of PS+ this month. Played through Modern Warfare 2 Remastered, and while I’m nowhere near as impressed as I was first time around, it’s still a short and sweet blast. And as DomsBeard said, ...

Re: What's Out This Week?

Wasn’t sure where to put this, but The Gigatrack is now available free in Trials Rising. This is the longest Trials track ever, and it’s really worth experiencing if you’ve got the game. I’ve not explored further but I think there’s some new bikes and stuff too.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Played through Ghostbusters on PS4, which is the gaming equivalent of comfort food! It helps that I’m a huge fan of the films, which I think promoted an average game to something I really enjoyed and was sad to see finish as quickly as it did. I’ve also discovered Bomberman on the PC Engine Mini! On...

Re: 441: P.T.

PT is to horror games what Paranormal Activity is to horror films. Or horror for people that aren’t into horror, which doesn’t mean that fans won’t get something out of it too, but it’s all just a bit too superficial and a bit too telegraphed. For a proper creepy game, try Silent Hill. That said, le...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Played through interactive mystery movie (and PS+ freebie) Erica on PS4. It’s a bit gimmicky, but has an engaging story and is very well put together. I’d recommend it to anyone that has it. Also finished Silent Hill on PS1, and it’s still great... dated controls in frantic situations involving demo...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Monument Valley 2 has sat on my iPad home screen since it was free about 2 years ago. I liked the first one well enough, but never felt I needed more until I was fed up of seeing it there! Which is a shame because it turned out to be incredible! Not sure why it caught hold of me more than the origin...

You guys are going to want to keep an eye out for Neon Abyss, reviews hit tomorrow
That looks awesome! Sticking it on my wish list for a sale. (Not because it doesn't look worth the money!)
There’s a demo. Very cool.

Re: What's Out This Week?

I was desperate for Bloodstained 2 - and I know it’s only £1.50 - but the Switch version, where I want to play it, is £13.49 and the PS4 version, where I could play it, is £11.99. And it’s put me off buying either yet!

Re: *SPOILER FILLED* The Last of Us Part II Conversational

I’ll never play this but very happy to hear all about it. Thanks! Interesting, how come you'll never play it? Just never got on with the first one. Gave it 3-4 hours, but too much stealth (meaning more than none) and too many Walking Dead vibes (which I also don’t like) for me, and I assume this is...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Tried out No Man's Sky a few nights ago as it's available on Game Pass. It starts well enough but I lost interest at the point where I'm required to build a base. I adored this game for well over a hundred hours when it came out. Then the big updates started appearing to fix all the problems I didn...

Re: June 2020 podcast

I felt bad that you’d had no feedback on the Scramble and Gradius podcast, so just wanted to say how much I enjoyed it! Big fan of original Scramble and various VIC-20 versions, but apart from playing a bit of Nemesis on the Spectrum that’s about it for me in the series. Great to hear opinions on so...

Re: Videogame Deals

Anyone played this? It's mental  Looks like a cross between some old Amiga scene demo and a Jeff Minter game and old flash games. It's an absolute mess, but the game is quite interesting, and the story is batshit crazy, too. It ticks a few boxes, haha. I played the demo a couple of weeks ago b...

Re: What's Out This Week?

There’s not a lot that ever really excites me (except weekly Arcade Archives releases), but I can’t wait for Bloodstained 2! Finished the first one again recently, finished Super Castlevania IV again last week, and the prospect of more of the same that I’ve never played before is great!

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Having sold my original copy for a lot more almost 10 years ago, I bought Split Second Velocity on PS3 again for less than the cost of the postage, and it’s still wonderful! Also still looks stunning, and the gameplay is still glorious, chaotic fun! Somehow fallen back into another old favourite, Vi...

Re: Videogame Deals

Infini was released yesterday on Switch but just went free until tomorrow if you own Lydia, EQQO or Soul Searching, which is all the more likely because they were part of a similar offer a while ago.

Re: Games you have spent the most time on 2020

Animal Crossing, closing in on 400 hours. Not sure what would come next, probably Streets or Rage 4, Bloodstained or Destruction Derby 2 at about 20 hours each.
