Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I’ve really enjoyed playing through Resident Evil 3 Remake on PS4 this week. I’m not one for boss fights, but I had a great time with the Nemesis encounters and overall I liked the fast-paced, keep moving forward vibe a lot, which made it more like playing Uncharted at points than Resident Evil. Rea...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I finally finished Resident Evil 4 on GameCube. It was the last game I hadn’t played in the series, and it turned out to be not only my favourite Resident Evil, but possibly my favourite game of all time! I need the dust to settle a bit more before I properly examine that outrageous claim though! In...

Re: Best in-game horses (Updated for 2021)
Kane on C64 or Spectrum, take your pick. I was never so impressed by a gaming horse as the first time I saw Shadowfax on the VIC-20 though. I’ve never really been fussed about more recent horses such as Red Dead or Zelda ones.

Re: Games of 2021: What piques your interest?
Looking forward to Silksong more than anything, followed by Windjammers 2 and RetroMania Wrestling. I also really hope that Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection is decent, and the same for very stylish-looking horror Mundaun. More predictably, Breath of the Wild 2 if it appears this year, and any 35th ann...

Re: 2020 Gaming Highlights
Absolutely falling in love with Silent Hill decades after buying and quickly dismissing it, then discovering Silent Hill 2 and it becoming one of my favourite games ever is my top highlight. In Other Waters on Switch just mesmerised me, and I was gutted when I loaded it up the last time knowing this...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I finally beat arcade Splatterhouse on Switch – I just love it, though it gave me a new-found respect for the incredible PC-Engine port I played and also loved previously; that’s a top conversion! SSX3 is one of my favourite games ever, and I have it on Gamecube but I’ve no idea where my PS2 copy ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I replayed it in October and, while it was a much better time the second go-around, I really missed the Gamecube controller. Nintendo has that rep of making a controller with one game in mind, but Capcom really showed third parties could do the same thing. Playing with an Xbox controller was fine, ...

Re: What's Out This Week?
Yeah I'm tempted by that, although (predictably) will wait for a sale  The last Space Invaders game I played was on the PSP and I remember it being really decent. Can't remember what it was called now, but it was like a super version, may have been Unlimited or Extreme or something like that. ...

I’ve been playing the Puyo Puyo Tetris demo for about three years, so looking forward to upgrading to the new demo this week!

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
The more I play of Resident Evil 4 on GameCube, the more I’m just marvelling at it. It’s a while since I’ve savoured a game as much this, but I’m really enjoying taking my time over everything there is to see. Guess I’m about half way now and really don’t want it to end. After finishing PC-Engine Sp...

Re: Games Completed 2020
I remember seeing the cassette case for Friday the 13th on Spectrum as a very young kid! Wasn't one my mum was ever going to purchase sadly  The 'READ THIS FIRST' blurb on the back is brilliant! Did you follow these rules for your play-through?? That’s awesome! No way I was allowed that eithe...

Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythmic Adventure Pack for me this week. That game still never fails to put a smile on my face! The ancient NES Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light is out for the first time (in Europe at least) on Switch too.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
As much as I’ve enjoyed it for years, I’d never finished any version of Splatterhouse when it was the first thing I played on my PC-Engine Mini back in June, but I’ve been chipping away on there ever since and finally beat it! Excellent port. Also been chipping away at Resident Evil 4 on GameCube. A...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Finished Secret of Mana on SNES Classic Mini, and that’s about it for the whole week! Apart from a couple of soul-destroying moments near the end where you realise you need really powerful stuff that you haven’t even looked at in the menus yet, let alone levelled up enough, it’s still a great-lookin...
