Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Spent most of the week playing Outriders. Finished the story, played some of the new post-game levels, but mostly mopping up side quests, which I’m finding are often more fun than the story was. Still really enjoying it and will keep going for a bit longer. Rain on Your Parade just came to Game Pass...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Surprised there's only been passing mentions of Outriders on here. I've had three lengthy sessions with it on Series X so far with a couple of co-op buddies and I'm having an absolute blast with it. Destiny meets Gears meets The Division in all the right ways, but with an aggressiveness to the play...

Re: PS1 games and exclusives leaving PSN - Grab them while you can!

Maybe a dumb question, but is the only way to access these through the original consoles now? I can’t see any reference to these either through menus or search on the (absolutely dreadful!) current web version of the PlayStation Store. My PSP no longer communicates with any modern router and my PS3 ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I finished new Game Pass treat Narita Boy; the final boss nearly outstayed its welcome, but otherwise a stylish, fluid and thoughtful metroidvania of sorts. More so than Gato Roboto, which I saw is leaving Game Pass soon and I’ve always fancied, but after playing what seems to be a third of the stor...

Re: Games Completed 2021

APR - Fantasy Zone (1cc) (Arcade on Switch) Default settings, my first ever 1cc! The key was realising that each of the bosses has a counter weapon that will make an absolute mockery of them, then I was banging my head against the final boss before trying it with the maximum speed upgrade, and did ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Game Pass has really delivered with new stuff over the past couple of weeks! Finished Genesis Noir, which has pointing, clicking and jazz, but despite all of that I still found this unique adventure absolutely wonderful! Next, I’m deep into Narita Boy, a very stylish and very modern metroidvania hom...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Spent most of the week having the best time with what I think was originally the SNES remaster of Dragon Quest on Switch. I was in the mood for that kind of grind but without too much JRPG faff, and playing through this old classic was just the job! Also finished the career mode on Wreckfest, which ...

Re: What's Out This Week?

] Dammit. I've half been wondering if this is the game that'll be my gateway to the series, now these review scores, I'm going to have to get it, aren't I... Might give it a few weeks till the preowned copies start appearing from people who bought in to the hype of it being the next big Switch game...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Finished Gears 5 on Xbox Series X. Great looker and plenty of mindless fun, if nothing especially memorable. Played through new Game Pass arcade and RPG offering Undertale in a couple of sittings too, which is just so masterfully crafted. Also restarted my Wreckfest career on there for its graphical...

Re: What's Out This Week?

You know that next-gen has really arrived when you get a monster truck game. Just need a hunting game now.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Played through The Medium on Xbox Series X. As my first proper next-gen game it was a bit underwhelming, but as a supernatural walking (and sometimes running) simulator I enjoyed it quite a lot. Also enjoyed Donut County a lot more than expected - short but very sweet, just like a real donut / dough...

Re: First or memorable platinums / 100% achievements

My first Platinum was Rocket League, which just appeared from playing it loads when it first came out! My other one was Day of the Tentacle Remastered, which I assume was for little more than finishing it too, though I’m so useless at those games I probably earned it through all that trial and error...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

But, the only new thing I've been playing this week is Lonely Mountains Downhill , which turned me off immediately. It was too difficult, didn't like the controls, irritating and frustrating, and massively disappointing considering I've been saving it since Christmas. But... I stuck with it, and it...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Ghosts’n Goblins Resurrection is a thing of beauty, and, just like its predecessors, I’m having the time of my life playing the first two levels over and over. It’s crazy brutal! Played Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Classic Mode on Xbox, which is a nice bonus, but doesn’t feel as “classic” as Bl...

Re: Games Completed 2021

FEB - Akumajō Dracula (Famicom on Switch) AKA the Japanese ROM of Castlevania. I can't really say I noticed any differences, but I probably wasn't paying close enough attention. Amazing how quick you can dash through the game once you know it. I actually did a 1cc. I didn't choose the 'easy' mode f...
