Re: You've been left an arcade by your long lost uncle!

I really want one of these recently-released Arcade 1Up mini-cabs. Has both games in there! https://arcade1up.com/products/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles%E2%84%A2-arcade-cabinet Some of their previous cabs have made it over to the UK and not seen this one listed anywhere yet - US and Canada only right...

Re: You've been left an arcade by your long lost uncle!

The Simpson’s arcade game is the reason finding working TMNT machines is tricky, it was a conversion kit. So for almost every Simpson’s arcade machine you saw, a turtles one died. I did not know this, and it makes me sad (I loved The Simpsons game, but I was crazy into TMNT - in fact I'm sat at my ...

Re: You've been left an arcade by your long lost uncle!

No 'The Simpsons' anyone?? Essential 90s kid nostalgia choice surely! I loved that game. Played through it entirely a couple of years ago in two player with my eldest. It was pretty fun for a while, but as with I guess probably most of those side scrolling brawlers (including Turtles, which I chose...

Re: The Division 2

Definitely. You can't really fault Ubi for post-launch support, and not just that but also how much of it is actually free. They do a lot of paid stuff as well, but they've been consistently good at general quality of life and content updates to keep their games feeling fresh. Even the latest Assass...

Re: The Division 2

I had a lot of fun with The Division 2 earlier this year (played on Xbox One X). I found it to be a really comprehensive and compelling package overall with strong mechanics, deep systems, and a beautifully detailed world. I only really played with my buddy for about 40 hours up to the credits rolli...

Re: Your most played game this year

I played football with Bruce Grobbelaar once. He didn't want to play in goal, and instead went up front! He was alright!

On the far less interesting games front - most played game this year is probably The Division 2 at around 40 hours, so not that much in the grand scheme of things really.

Re: Console Special No.6: Sega Dreamcast

As a Dreamcast devotee, that was a truly wonderful listen. And with the bonus of the great John Linneman no less!

I'm only gutted I didn't get myself sorted to get my own Dreamcast story down in writing to share on the show.

One of the best C&R shows ever, for the one of the best consoles ever!

Re: The Sony news and discussion thread

Does anyone know if you still need Plus to play PS Now games online? I think with Gamepass you can play those games online without a Gold subscription, is that right? Wondered if it was the same with PS Now. So on Game Pass you still need a Gold subscription to play online. 'Game Pass Ultimate' inc...

Re: The Sony news and discussion thread

This is broadly good news that Sony are moving to make PS Now more affordable and include bigger marquee titles , but I don't think I'll be signing up until I see how the service pans out over time. The included games number is high, but a huge number of those are stream-only PS3 titles, and while I...

Re: The Shenmue trilogy

Absolutely. The games are full of design choices and gameplay mechanics that in this day and age just don't hold up, and I can completely see why someone coming to the games now would have a tough time accepting them. But of almost any game I've ever played, Shenmue has the ability to cast a weird s...

Re: The Shenmue trilogy

I expect it’s going to get some pretty rough reviews, but this really is a case of ‘those that want it, want it like that’. The rest of us are quite happy to never play any of them ever again... :) I'm definitely expecting review scores all over the place. As long as it's getting somewhere in the 7...

Re: The Shenmue trilogy

Really positive impressions on Shenmue 3 from Matt Robinson over at Eurogamer: https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2019-09-30-shenmue-3-does-not-disappoint This is exactly what I am expecting and wanting - a time capsule love letter to fans that will be obtuse and archaic to everyone else. Re: The Guardian's Top 50 games of the century

Only 28 for me!

Not a fan of the list actually. Solid bunch of games but a weird order for me, and some of the selections in multi-game series are odd. Picking the first Forza Horizon over 3 or 4? The original Guitar Hero?

Still, not my list! To each his own!

Re: Your Top 50 Games of All Time Lists

We need to have a three line whip of list submitters to get everyone to rank their lists 1-50 so that we can make the data even more robust and get a bigger sample size (me included!).

The punishment for non-compliance is expulsion from the C&R forum!

If memory serves he actually left to join Nintendo a while back...

Yep - he's at Nintendo Treehouse now!
