Re: PS1 games and exclusives leaving PSN - Grab them while you can!

It was available until late March: https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2021/03/sony_locks_the_door_on_legacy_web-based_ps_store Absolutely gutted! I had no idea you could access it through a back door hyperlink! It was supposed to be officially closed last year so I didn’t even look for a way around it...

Re: PS1 games and exclusives leaving PSN - Grab them while you can!

Yes I believe they took down the legacy web store last week. The old store actually got pulled last October I think ahead of the PS5 launch, so you've only been able purchase games directly on the systems themselves for a while now. This has been a particular pain on Vita as that store is bloomin' ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I only mentioned it in passing in my last post because I didn’t have much to add on top of what I’d said previously. I just finished the story though, and I’m completely with you. I had a blast too, whether jumping into random games with others (which has been fine since launch day) or just playing...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Surprised there's only been passing mentions of Outriders on here. I've had three lengthy sessions with it on Series X so far with a couple of co-op buddies and I'm having an absolute blast with it. Destiny meets Gears meets The Division in all the right ways, but with an aggressiveness to the play ...

Re: PS1 games and exclusives leaving PSN - Grab them while you can!

Great thread! Sadly the UK store is a bit anaemic compared to the US one (over 100 less games!) and a number of the titles listed by Nyx aren't available here. No Mega Man Legends games, no Tron Bonne, no Bloody Roar....the list goes on! While there are exceptions, there also seems to be a rule that...

Re: The Sony news and discussion thread

That's true, as there does seem to be more and more TV shows being made in that genre. Although I seem to remember the whole zombie genre was pretty saturated in both gaming and other media when the first Last of Us came out. Yeah that's a fair point. I'd say zombies have been established as a bit ...

Re: The Sony news and discussion thread

Some great ideas for where Naughty Dog could go next! I don't think it will be Uncharted (whatever direction that goes in) - that will be farmed out to another studio with ND supervising I'd guess. A proper, serious pirate adventure set in that 17th-18th Century 'golden age' would be brilliant. Not ...

Re: The Sony news and discussion thread

You're right they definitely will need to keep an eye on franchise burnout, but at the moment I'd guess they're looking at IP like Bloodborne, Horizon, Ghost of Tsushima and Spider-Man that are all on their first iteration (or 1.5 in the case of Spider-Man) and thinking they're a way off that yet. W...

Re: 477 - SEGA Rally Championship 1995

Sega Rally is lightning in a bottle. From the first day I played the game on Christmas day 1996 on my brand new Sega Saturn, to this very day, it just plays perfectly. I would change nothing. I don't want more cars. I don't want more tracks. I don't wish the handling was any heavier or any lighter. ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Help! I bought Monster Hunter: Rise on a whim and I’m utterly, completely, catastrophically in love with it. I am very tempted by this game, but I'm too afraid that what has happened to you will happen to me. I simply don't have time for that kind of behaviour at the moment, so I shall resist.........

Re: The Sony news and discussion thread

I didn't think the article's revelation that Sony only really cares about it's biggest AAA titles and studios is much of a revelation at all to be honest. That's been apparent for a long time now, certainly for the whole second half of the PS4 generation. Their first party titles, while largely of i...

Jan - Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales (PS5) Jan - Gears 5: Hivebusters (XSX) A fantastic, self-contained 3-hour Gears campaign that looks stunningly beautiful on Series X (although Gears 5 was already a looker on the older consoles so I bet this is too!). It's also free to all Game Pass Ultimate...

Re: Games of 2021: What piques your interest?

Great topic! There are quite a few games I'm really looking forward to this year across all the consoles, but to keep it brief: Halo Infinite - Xbox Series X - I'm one of the apparently weird folks that actually thought this looked alright when gameplay was shown off last year! Sure it wasn't mind-b...

Re: Games Completed 2021

Jan - Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales (PS5) A beautiful game that plays to all the strengths of the original while tightening up on some of its weaknesses and portraying a well told (if fairly derivative) story. It is much smaller in scope than the first game, but it was never meant as a full se...

I loved my Spectrum, but just the thought of playing any Speccy game at maximum volume gives me a headache!
