His dad was self employed which seemed to involve him sitting around the house a lot with his shirt off listening to bob marley.
I'm self employed, and this is exactly what it's like.

Re: Forum Changelog and Forum Suggestions

It's fine for me on Safari on my phone, Suits. The only thing that's an 'issue' (not an issue personally) is that it only displays about two thirds of any videos people post.

All text, boxes etc look ok, so maybe an i-setting?

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I've kinda been falling into (what I see as) the trap of subscription services - I've been installing games, playing them for ten minutes, and uninstalling again. Whereas that's great to satisfy my curiosity about games that I probably wouldn't buy, but would like to see in action, it's not very sat...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Due to some errors in judgement, my backlog almost entirely consists of strategy games, so it's been a real relief to have Gamepass for PC so I can dip into lighter fare. I've been trying out some stuff: The Outer Worlds Didn't like this, the humour irritates me and I'm done (for the moment anyway) ...

Re: Games Completed 2019

BLACK BIRD Normal Mode. Loved everything about this game, apart from the minor bullet-helly bit at the end. I tended to dip in once a day for a long time and see how far I would get. This time round I decided to practice the bullet-helly bit first and hopefully finish it; did that once with a life ...

Re: Games Completed 2019

The Long Dark, Wintermute (story campaign), Episode 3. Boy oh boy, I'm not sure I'm up to describing this. The Long Dark works really well as a survival sandbox, so the story mode has some real obstacles to overcome while using the same mechanics and setting. For example, you encounter wolves in th...

Re: Companion media

I've only played Division 1, and these are a bit of a stretch, with the emphasis on NYC and desolate urban guerilla-type stuff rather than much to do with DC or contagion, but... The Warriors Fort Apache The Bronx Death Wish (The Bronson one) Tenuous: No Escape (1994) For the outbreak side, the obvi...

Re: Games Completed 2019

Minit What a cool game this is. The whole '60 second life' thing is kind of a gimmick, but as the game is built around it, and it never got frustrating. Constant new things to discover, and try. Each puzzle was completed in just a few 'lives', so it moved along at such a fun pace. It's really well ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Most of my points in Outer Worlds are into long guns and stealth, I’ve treated all the melee stuff (both attack and defence) as dump stat, and I’ve got the bare minimum into the skills that affect companions to unlock their secondary talents and no more. Melee does seem like it would be totally via...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

What builds are you guys playing in The Outer Worlds, eg 1 Handed Melee, Sniper or whatever, and how is it? I am playing State of Decay 2, the Heartland DLC, which takes you back to the original game's Trumbull Valley, for a scripted campaign (the original is more open ended survival with goals). It...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Gave it a try last night. Initial thoughts... I wasn't quite prepared for how ropey it looks! It really is not a pretty game. (the less than 1gb download size was an indication this may be the case!) The truck models aren't too bad, but the terrain and the way it morphs under your wheels is pretty ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Mate, if you've not played Forza, you're in for a real treat. Looking forward to it! But I'm a bit worried I'm gonna be a dilettante about it - mess around for 30 mins and leave, like Gran Turismo Sport (I changed this from GT5, to GT6, to Sport :o ). Regardless, that's a decision for another day, ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I've bounced off Creature in the Well (PC), the 'pinball-adjacent' dungeon crawler that came out a short while back. The premise is ok - you are bouncing around balls of energy to charge targets and open doors. You do this via two swords - one to bat the ball around on the fly, and one to trap the b...

Re: Videogame Deals

I just picked up Mudrunners which has been on my PS4 wishlist for ages now. It was £6.99 in the sale, but a bit of credit on my account meant I only ended up having to pay £1.80 real money :) Looking forward to giving it a try. Yes! ... I'm all about the plodding along doing mundane tasks games at ...

Re: Videogame Deals

The PC contingent probably already know this, but MS Game Pass for PC is only EUR 3.99 a month, and EUR 1.00 for the introductory month.

There are a few things on there I'd like to try, so I signed up :(

Re: Games Completed 2019

The Return of the Obra Dinn (PS4) Very happy to play through this again (originally on PC in Jan) and loved it. It holds up very well to a second playthrough, even though, in theory, you know who most of the crew are ahead of time. I didn't cheat and only identified someone I already knew when the ...
