Nah, Guardians of the Galaxy was far worse. Completely rammed with unfunny filler.

Just goes to show; I put Tales from the Borderlands in that category while I really enjoyed GotG! I think I’m in a minority as regards my harsh views on Tales though.

Subscription Services - a brave new world?

The Steam Summer Sale started yesterday. I'm looking at my wishlist of seven games, and six of them have discounts. But I'm wondering whether it's smart to actually buy any of them. I've got accounts on Steam, the Epic Games store, Humble, the Paradox-associated Gamersgate and GOG. All of these with...

Re: All things Telltale

HBO said they’re keen to get the Game of Thrones one back up, but it wasn’t that great anyway. It was probably the worst of late-stage Telltale, and it was still pretty solid! Goes to show the heights the studio was getting to. I was surprised to see Tales from the Borderlands was released almost c...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I'm taking a break from the excellent Infinifactory as I've put a ton of time into it and am seemingly only halfway trhrough. I've gone back to give Objects in Space another go, a fair shake of the mare's tail. Where has Joshi disappeared to? I need to order up one of these from him: lgdYKGlF96o

Are you moving on to Finding Paradise next? You should strike while the iron is hot!

(I have not played A Bird Story but enjoyed FP a lot, and there are some callbacks for sure).

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

On a lighter note, I found out that this Classic version from GOG does include the DLC with it too, so that means I'll get to play Minerva's Den again as well. I have played it before, and while I liked it, I wasn't as impressed by it as some others. I remember it being good, but essentially Biosho...

No, haven’t played it, though I enjoyed their game about burning stuff, which was very relaxing. I’ll keep an eye out for HRM, cheers.

Re: Dragon's Dogma

I wanted to get a dig in, in general, but didn’t want to stink up the Death Stranding thread as everyone was so enthusiastic in there!

Also I thought this was the Whatcha Been Playing thread, sorry for going off topic

Well, after Cyberpunk, Death Stranding, TLoU 2 and the next Fromsoft games come out, of course.

By the looks of that video, you’ll be able to skip Death Stranding so there’s 40 or 50 hours for you.

Re: Infinifactory

That's to be expected and I was thinking exactly the same thing at first. The game really comes into its own when optimizing puzzles, not merely "solving" them. Once you become more accustomed to the intricacies of the game's mechanics, you'll be looking back on your initial solutions in utter disd...

Re: Dragon's Dogma

I'm playing as a female, brunette strider called Carter, but with the moniker 'Chun-Li', whose main pawn is a female, blonde mage called Comma, with the moniker 'Cammy'. I'm not exactly blessed with a creative mind, sadly. I created a very Aryan-looking female pawn and called her Chicken Wolf...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Me too. It’s a tricky concept for people to understand. Any 8 player game will invariably have shades and then I’m stumped. I tend to choose yellow as developers seem to single it out as the only colour which comes with one shade! Exactly! All my spreadsheets at work have to be carefully colour-cod...

Re: Infinifactory

This is a lot of fun but my imagination is failing me often. I am basically using long belts and spacers to achieve my ends https://media.giphy.com/media/keUW3qSnqRlMV9WU3d/giphy.gif I looked up a puzzle last night after I'd done it and was shocked to see how he was dividing his blocks at the start ...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

@KSub: Don't worry about it! Colour blindness is often exaggerated anyway ;)

Enjoying the game so far, though I'm finding it very hard to visualise what any block will do ahead of time - it's a lot of trial and error for me.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

 No, it's cool. I was able to resolve this straight away by just building in 3 delay blocks instead of conveyors to slow down the first row. I had accidentally built in some extra conveyors between visualisation and result so was a bit dismayed. And those two colours won't be any issue. It's mo...

PS: There are no colour-based elements to any of the puzzles, you'll be happy to know.
Cheers! Always good to know!

I bought it... if your ears are burning anytime in the next month or so you will know that curses are emanating from the northwest in your general direction. :D

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Moving on from Objects in Space, I think. There just doesn't seem to be much going on outside of the designed clunkiness of the interface. That said, I haven't really experimented with any of the ship's systems, as the developers want you to do. It just appears at the moment that you have to grind s...
