Re: Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition

Good games everybody. I'm definitely going to sit the next session out and it's unlikely I'll be able to do voice chat again. Thanks for having me anyway.

Re: Shmups

Interesting! Stick-wise I'm on a Hayabusa, it's a step looser and has a bigger dead zone than the Sanwas I was previously used to, which explains to some degree the surprising loss of fine control. I think I've probably ruined myself with bad habits more than anything else, I'm effectively ignoring ...

Re: Shmups

I'm trying to make the switch back to stick after a good few years away, and quickly realising that I've got a very loose, very "neutral" grip that is entirely designed around Fighting Games. Great for complex inputs and large, smooth gestures, utterly useless for the kind of directness and precisio...

Re: Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition

I'm up for this, if I'm allowed out to play. Should hopefully have a stick arriving this weekend, and I picked up Champion Edition on PC a wee while ago without ever actually loading it up. 20+ untouched characters to try out :o

Re: Shmups

Ah, cool man. Will give it a watch! Any more progress on Gradius V? Haven't had the time to keep it up, but I shall return to it soon. Nah I haven't been back to it for quite a while, but it's right there on my "definitely one day" pile. Tough as it is, it seems like it might be the most doable of ...

He's the kind of hero we need right now! Also designed by Junya Inoue, the director of Progear 8-) A PATTERN EMERGES 8-)

Here's that clear, btw

Re: Shmups

Also, still really enjoying Missile Dancer, just got a clear on Hard so only Expert to go now. Might be beyond me but it's fun enough that I'll give it a good go. It's also available on Steam for anyone interested. it's only £1.69 on Steam. Sold! :o --------- I got my first 1CC on Progear back in J...

Re: Shmups

I've decided to set smaller, attainable goals in Gradius V, as opposed to getting hellbent on a 1cc that's probably far off. And yesterday I achieved the goal I had set: survive the stage 2 boss rush and reach stage 3 wirhout continuing! Tweet with stream highlight. Such a great ending to the strea...

Re: I'll Name That Game In 5! (Part 3: Electric Boogaloo)

5. Survivor reimagined: Ojo Del Tigre 5. From bouncy island to Bondtune Just Cause 4? There's a bit in Far Cry 4 that perfectly fits the second clue but I'm going with the island/jungle/Spanish connection. 2. Coolest special? Bass quake, baby 12. Twisted Metal clone number 1,976 Vigilante 8? This p...

I can't see your avatar any more! :( It seems to be broken on my phone's browser but displays fine on my PC :? I'll try to re-upload it, thanks! I think the Jonah clue was exactly as tough as it should have been, I'd like to think I would've been able to solve it if I had any knowledge of the game....

Re: Shmups

I presonally really think that's the way to do it anyway. I love discovering stuff like this and peeling the layers back myself, rather than instantly 'downloading' optimal strats, etc. Progear is beautiful. I've got it on my hacked o.g. Xbox, but I wouldn't mind a dedicated, enhanced port at all. ...

Great job on solving those kpbechtel. Liking the look of these questions as well. Got a few semi-confident guesses here: 5. Survivor reimagined: Ojo Del Tigre Resident Evil (remake) 10. Not Sprite Presents: ATAXX Remake Spot 1. 2003: Sega does what Nintenwon’t :( F-Zero GX    Edit: Oo...

Re: Shmups

I've been testing the water on a lot of shmups lately, looking for something to really sink my teeth into, and finally settled on Progear. I'd messed around with it a few times in the past and the art style really struck a chord with me, but I'd never spent the time to properly learn the mechanics. ...

Re: I'll Name That Game In Five! (The Return!)

Pretty sure there wasn’t. It featured the 10 events of the decathlon as far as I know. Although there was tug o’ war in the sequel Daley Thompson’s Supertest... Daley Thompson’s Olympic Challenge completed the trilogy in ‘88 and had a few different olympic disciplines but again, no arm-wrestling. Y...
