I do love the Bravely Default final boss theme. There was probably a conversation along the lines of
“What instruments should we use?”
“All of them”.

Played a lot of Hades this weekend.
That’s a good game.
You probably all already know that, I’m just a little late to it.

Nah, Seth had little to do with SFV’s problems (or MvC Inifnite). That’s mostly on Ono.

Re: PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale
Recently started going through Matt’s back catalog of ‘what happened’ videos, they’re all really good.
All stars battle royale sounds like a case of bad timing more than anything else, which is a shame.

Google have decided making games for Stadia isn’t a goer, but they’re still continuing to get third party games on it.

Re: Motion sickness from video games really sucks.
The weird effect after playing guitar hero for a while is caused by a thing the brain does that’s actually useful, it’s just not what you want it to be doing here. Essentially, we evolved as hunters, and our senses are evolved to pick out motion from the background. Lots of predators can do it. But t ...

Ms say they’re not expecting ‘normal’ stock levels for the XSX until June at the earliest.

That’s probably an error on the website or app, it’s shown as ‘not available for the Xbox one’ on mine since it first popped up in the gamepass list.

Re: Sound of Play 286
Turns out quite a lot of games I know and love came out in 2008. You have to forgive me, that whole 2006 to 2010 period of working on the middle fables has all kind of blurred together I’m my memory now. I’d say around a dozen of the games in this mix were developed in walking distance from my cur ...

Aha, a year in which a game I worked on was released!
I shall give this a listen later, I’m trying to think what even released that year...

Re: Games Completed 2021
Jan 17th - Quantum Break (XBO) Jan 26th - Donut County (XBO) Fun little game, didn’t take very long to beat (and going back up to get the achievements I missed took about 20 minutes with the chapter select). I think it could’ve stood to be a little longer and explored its mechanic more than it did, ...

Re: Games Completed 2021
Jan 17th - Quantum Break (XBO) Sure, let’s start the year off with a really old XBO game... I think this brings me back up to 100% of Remedy’s output. It’s a decent game. The combat is competent, the plot is well put together and interesting. But it’s not spectacular, I’d say it’s a long way behind b ...

Check you’ve not accidentally changed something in the controls remapping (on the console as well as in the game itself)

Jan 10 - Streets of Rage 4 (PS4) (Cherry - Normal) For that final boss... Take the guy out first as Ms.Y is less dangerous. Once the mecha battle starts stay in the top left of the arena and concentrate on the leg that’s there, ignore going for the other legs. If you can also deal with Ms.Y before y ...

Re: What's Out This Week?
Yeah, the character progression stuff is the Kunio-kun influence. First time I played through it it took me aaaaages to realise those buffs you were buying in the shops were persistent, so you should keep getting them.

Be interesting to see how it compares to River City Girls now, which is a more recent take on the Kunio-kun gameplay style.
