Re: Whatcha Been Watching?

Saw Everything Everywhere All At Once last weekend and it was great. 5 stars, 10/10, A+, etc etc. Something very special will need to come along to not have it be the best movie of 2022 (in my opinion, obviously) Saw it on Wednesday. Totally brilliant, a roller coaster ride of a film, felt like I h...

Re: Elden Ring

Envoy's Longhorn looks really fun. And I agree with everything you said Jon, build variety is shockingly good.

Re: Elden Ring

Nice! Sounds like a good plan. I've never tried any of the Faith or Dragon incantations but they look extremely cool. I think at this point my character is going full Strength so won't be able to do much, but potentially in a NG+ I can try them for fun when I have more levels to spare.

Re: Elden Ring

I too am just one achievement away from 100%ing it, frenzied flame as well. I'm doing a strength build playthrough to get that, and also to see some quests through that I never got to first couple of times round, any ones I missed I'm looking up guides to make sure I'm getting them. Love the Patches...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

started Tunic the other night, so far so good. nice retro vibe with lots of mysterious symbols and hidden things to discover, feels like zelda mixed with fez so after 5 or 6 hours with this game, I feel like I should add Dark Souls as a major component of this concoction. The game feels very soulsl...

Re: Elden Ring

I'm hitting 300 hours now, done two playthroughs on one character and I've just started a new one as well. Going to do a strength based character using the Wretch starting class. I have lots of other games to play, but I keep coming back to play a bit of Elden Ring. When I first hit that secret boss...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

When Halo Infinite came out, I played it quite a lot but for some reason I stopped a few levels away from the end. Took a bit of a break from gaming as I then went home for Christmas and left my xbox in the flat. But over the week I decided I'd go back and finish it. I actually played it on the clou...

Re: Elden Ring

Past few nights I've been speeding through New Game+, I want to try and get an alternate ending. In the space of 10 hours ish I have got right up to the final boss. It's amazing how much quicker your second playthrough of a soulsborne game can be when you're familiar with the path you want to take /...

Re: Elden Ring

I can't imagine the mind melt it must be finding (Leyndell / lategame area spoilers below) Deeproot Depths for the first time by going down to the Subterranean Shunning Grounds, through the hidden passage to Frenzied Flame Prescription, and then through two further illusory walls. Must be like "...

Re: Elden Ring

Alex, if you're pure dex and no int, Uchigatana will be better than Moonveil for you. Even better if you started as the Samurai, as then you can get two Uchigatanas in your first playthrough and go for a dual wield approach. If not you can always pair it with the Wakizashi though that doesn't do qui...

Re: Elden Ring

My mind immediately goes to the one by the Minor Erdtree in Caelid... There's a painting site down there that gives you a pretty good item, and then a giant magical golem who has wayyyyy too many hit points and when you kill him he doesn't drop anything. And everytime you want to fight him you have ...

Re: 512: Kentucky Route Zero

I loved this game so much. It's a very immersive game. The world feels real, especially when you play with all the interludes which act as little vignettes of the broader world outside the scope of the main game. I love the one where you're listening to an automated information hotline about the Ech...

Re: Dark Souls I, II and III

midway through my Elden Ring play I went back to my Dark Souls 2 save (which was sitting at end-game waiting to do all the DLC) and finished it off, ending the game and getting the Aldia ending. I have to say, there are some really cool, really fun and weird areas and fights in this game... but this...

Re: Elden Ring

I'm 130 hours in and still not finished. I've been obsessed with this game. It's so good. I think it could be From's best (out of the ones that I've played, which is just the Souls games). In particular I'm finding the quests and characters all brilliant, there were times in previous games where the...

Re: Elden Ring

Alex - spoiler for that part with Blaidd: Have a look down in Siofra, near the cliff edges, a little way into the place. He'll be there. That questline has been a highlight for me of this game, Blaidd in particular is such a great character, and any time he asks me to join him in going somewhere and...

Re: The King of Fighters series

I've been on a gaming hiaitus lately (no real reason, I just got sucked into tabletop games and have been focusing on those for the past month or so instead), so I haven't got a chance to give KOF 15 a go, but I really like the look of it. I enjoyed kof13 a lot but it was a tad on the precise side f...

Re: Board/Card Games - The obligatory "analogue" gaming thread

My cat decided to get me this as a Christmas present (she is so thoughtful). That looks amazing, by the way. Have you had a chance to play it yet? On a similar note of excellent packages of physical games, the second edition of The One Ring Middle Earth Roleplaying Game came out not too long ago, a...
