Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: Dark Souls I, II and III

Dark Souls III! I picked this up via the Japanese Xbox Live store and, thanks to the fact that the "International" version is downloaded on Xbox Ones outside of Japan , I've spent the past week with it. I'll post no spoilers except to reveal how I'm feeling about it, which is very...

Re: Dark Souls I, II & III

I went for it. Really enjoying DS2 so far. Interesting to readjust to the combat after so much Bloodborne, but I am liking the much more varied selections of weapons and armours and upgrades, etc. Is it just me though or is it a little more generous with the level up requirements? I'm only 7 hours i...

Re: Games completed 2016

16 Jan - The Last of Us
Third time through, this time on Survivor+. Might have a go at Grounded one day.

07 Feb - Bloodborne (+ The Old Hunters)
Loved it. Pre-ordered Dark Souls 3 the next day. Now wondering whether I should play Dark Souls 2 first.

Re: Dark Souls I, II & III

I completed Bloodborne at the weekend (thanks to the patient advice of our very own James Carter) and, despite having a huge backlog of games to play, I feel like I want to play more things like Bloodborne. I have my pre-order in for Dark Souls 3, but should I pick up Dark Souls 2 in the meantime? I...

Re: Bloodborne

are you pressing up on the D-pad? that gives you 5 bullets but costs you health if that's not it it sounds like a bug I didn't encounter a debuff like that the whole way through the game Embarrassingly, yes, that was the issue. I knew health was one of the top buttons, just got the wrong side of th...

Re: Bloodborne

OK, why are blood vials taking life off me? Is this a bug or a 'feature'?

Re: Bloodborne

Quick question though: I don’t seem to have a way to level up my character yet. Am I missing something or do I have to hit a certain point before that becomes available? It should only be a short way in but after speaking to Gehrman in the hunter's dream and playing for a little while another chara...

Re: Bloodborne

First night of Bloodborne involved lots of deaths but lots of excitement. Definitely liking the more aggressive approach to combat. Quick question though: I don’t seem to have a way to level up my character yet. Am I missing something or do I have to hit a certain point before that becomes availabl...

Re: Games Completed 2015

4 April - Dying Light (PS4) I didn't much like Dead Island, but the parkour and nighttime stealth aspects of this had me intrigued. And you know what? It turned out to be one of the most enjoyable and compelling open world games I've played in a long time. Some dodgy boss battles aside, the game was...

Re: Wolfenstein: The New Order

I played through the second
Spoiler: show
prison bit
last night. It felt like a return to Butcher Bay in all the right ways. This game has a great sense of pacing. It's so refreshing for a first-person shooter to use shooty bits sparingly, and to focus on exploration and immersion.

Re: Wolfenstein: The New Order

I think you've sold me on it. I was already tempted, given the Starbreeze/Riddick heritage of the developers. Will hopefully pick it up this weekend.
