Re: 546: Astro Bot Rescue Mission and Astro's Playroom

It just doesn’t compare to another ‘demo’ launch game I can think of… On the day of its release I booted up the PS5 and noticed the icon for Astro’s Playroom and thought “that must be the demo” since Astro Bot was on the PSVR demo I’d played as well! I was right… and very wrong! Arguably this demo ...

Re: 545: Nintendo Land

Considering I mostly just played by myself it was still a fun little hardware demo. Especially the legend of Zelda bow and arrow levels, the Donkey Kong crash course and the Yoshi ‘drawing a path’ level. It was nice just to break out the Wii U and have another shot after all this time. I can’t often...

Re: 512: Kentucky Route Zero

So I’ve been off work the past week having contracted COVID for the first time. Not bad having avoided it for 2 years! So I got KRZ from Gamepass having seen it was up for this season of Cane and Rinse. During my time off, I’ve had a terrible time with a high temperature for a couple of days and I h...

Re: 522: What Remains of Edith Finch

Beautiful and heart-breaking in equal measure, What Remains of Edith Finch feels like one of those occasions where someone sits you down and just tells you their life story and you find it so gripping that you forget you’re playing a game and just meander along experiencing this family’s story as yo...

Re: 520: Control

Having 100% Alan Wake Remastered and craving more, I finally bit the bullet and played Control. I bought the game a long time ago for a cheap price and it sat on my shelf with the plastic wrapping still on it waiting for me to be in the mood to play it and I honestly can’t believe I left it so long....

Re: 535: Universal Paperclips

A fun and strangely addictive little game. It didn’t go the way I thought it might. Or at least I didn’t get the impression it did. I had a feeling early on that it would go the way of Skynet and the AI would eventually become self-aware and kick me off and take over all jobs and the complete domina...

Re: Games Completed 2022

Jan - Shadow Man Remastered (Xbox Series X) A game I’ve a long history with (as far as the N64 version goes), but I think the Remastered edition exceeds in many ways and would recommend it to anyone willing to give it the time it takes to complete. Just under 30 hours it took to 100% which is not ba...

Re: Games Completed 2022

Jan - universal paperclip (iOS) - seen someone on this forum talking about it and thought I’d try it myself. It’s a good wee game! Strangely addictive. Jan - Control (Xbox One AND Xbox Series X) - I think the fact I played and completed the whole game twice speaks volumes. Initially on the free Xbox...

Re: The Euro 2020 Thread

Sorry, been a bit irregular on here, dodgy tummy. Nice to see the English team do so well, dominated the game against Denmark! Obviously Denmark were good in spells and scored but I thought the game at least finished with England looking very comfortable. Best of luck tonight! Need to be careful in ...

Re: 493 - Dead Rising

How mental is it that in 5 years time, (from August 2021) Dead Rising will be 20 years old!? Or even......15 years old now... Yeah but 20 is a bit more “mental” than 15, surely? :D When I think of it in those terms my brain goes “it will not be 20 years, it’s not been that long!” It’s just cr...

Re: The Euro 2020 Thread

Status quo for Scotland then  Y’know, for as much as Scotland didn’t play all that well, Croatia were outstanding! A lot of Scotland fans and media missed that and went straight to criticising Clark and the team but I thought some of the football Croatia played was superb! (Sorry I was late to ...

Re: The Euro 2020 Thread

Certainly the next round will be interesting. Scotland’s aim remains the same regardless: beat Croatia. I think this game will simply be down to who wants it more. On paper Croatia will be favourites but we all know that doesn’t mean much in these competitions. The thing about coming first in this g...

Decent game but I feel England didn’t really get out of third gear. Maybe playing for second place?

Re: The Euro 2020 Thread

Man, how good are the Italians at the minute! Missed the first two games due to being a busy day at work and getting my first vaccine right during the Wales game but that Italy game was about as good as a team has looked all tournament. I just wonder if they can replicate it against the better teams.

Re: The Euro 2020 Thread

Missed a few minutes at the end there due to the STV player going to ads - I imagine someone was sick of listening to Clive and Ally - but I thought most of the game was quite good! High degree of defence work and some decent attacks. Thought Germany would get the goal but just couldn’t get it in th...
