Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Sticking on the Yakuza theme. I have just hit Chapter 12 in Yakuza: Like a Dragon. I have been enjoying the game thus far but I wasn't a fan of the much spike in enemy level at this point which basically forces you to do the Battle Arena it introduces in this chapter at least once to get to a high e...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?
Pike is great, but is imo lumbered with a pretty one-note character. In fact, I'm really not sure who I was supposed to be rooting for throughout - the fact that she's such an unsympathetic and amoral person drains the film of a lot of its potential tension. That was one of the best things about th...

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?
I watched I Care a Lot over the weekend and it is the best film I've seen in ages, probably since Knives Out. It's a new amazon prime exclusive and stars Rosamund Pike in the leading role. She plays the head of a care home facility but she is also a con artist, forcing old people to go into this car...

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread
https://metro.co.uk/2021/02/17/significant-nintendo-announcements-for-next-four-weeks-claims-rumour-14096541/ There are rumours that they have more to announce over the next 4 weeks so there is hope of more Zelda stuff and more. Apparently Skyward Sword is going to be £50 which seems a tad high to m...

100%, I played it all in solo on WiiU and would class it as my favourite Mario games after both Galaxy games.

Re: Whatcha Been Watching?
I watched Greenland last night, it's a new film exclusive to Amazon. If you like disaster films, you can't go wrong with this film. An enjoyable two hours, more stressful a watch than other films like it, but in a good way.

JAN - 80 Days (Android) JAN - What Remains Of Edith Finch (PS4) JAN - Judgment (PS4) JAN - Donut County (Android) FEB - Gorogoa (Android) Not sure why but I fancied going through this again. It's still good. Some really nice, satisfying mechanics, although it's not perfect. There are a couple of se...

If you do decide to do an MCU rewatch, than can I plug my podcast NeverWatchers, where I who has never watched the films watch them in release order and each episode I discuss my thoughts on the film with my co host who is a Marvel expert. Up to Thor so far, next episode will be Captain America.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
I'm in this state of limbo where I wanna play something but I'm working in Windsor all next week and my copy of Ys IX is still in the mail. What should I play? Anyone got any recommendations for like a 10-15 hour (or less) game I can whip off before I travel? Here's my backlog. https://www.grouvee....

Re: 456 - Pokémon (gens 1 and 2)
I have fond memories of this generation of Pokemon games as Pokemon Blue was my first experience of handheld gaming on a lime green Gameboy Colour that I had to share with my sister, but thankfully the only game she ever wanted to play on it was a Mary Kate and Ashley Olson game. I played this game ...

I read that they didn't lose their jobs but were reallocated a role elsewhere in the company, which is something I guess, but still not ideal.

Re: The Nintendo news and discussion thread
That's exactly how I use it and like you will purchase games which are more suited to handheld play, particularly less story intensive games that I can play whilst half watching something on TV which doesn't require much engagement either, like a football match or documentary or something on youtube...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?
Started Luigi's Mansion 3 and was initially disappointed with the first couple of hours, mainly just finding it a bit boring having to just go in rooms and suck at anything and everything, I didn't find the enemies much fun either to defeat. I played a bit more and it's got a bit better now I have G...

I actually didn't like the bath section, found it a bit frustrating. My favourite section was the bit in the salmon factory.

Re: Games Completed 2021
5. What Remains of Edith Finch I'm on quite a role this year, 5 games finished already, they have mostly been shorter games which are nice palette cleansers whilst I work through the behemoth that is Yakuza Like a Dragon. Anyway, Edith Finch was on Game Pass and has always been highly praised. I rea...

Re: Motion sickness from video games really sucks.
I've only had it twice, first was with GTA Vice City on PS2 but it was because motion blur was switched on in the settings, once I turned it off I was fine. The other game was Jazzpunk which I was given a code for to review, I felt really bad telling the dev that I couldn't review it as I bet he tho...
