Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

I didn't especially like the first one. The mechanical rhythm (to use this phrase) of the shooting, (with shotgun or whichever) constantly interrupted (I'd say every few seconds) by the melee kills (which were tied to ammo and health), was like reading (or trying to read) a paragraph overpunctuated...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

It really can't be stressed enough how smooth, enjoyable and well-designed DOOM Eternal's combat loop actually is.

I'm moved.

Fully back on-board the AAA train and chucking my Cube out the window if they all turn out to be like this from now on.

Re: Games Completed 2020

Marauders are... *chef's kiss*.

I get why so many people have a problem with them considering they fly in the face of basically every FPS convention, but I think they're really well designed and a fantastic addition to the already brilliant Doom Eternal combat loop.

Me: "All the tech jargon confuses me."

Stan: "... Tech jargon? Say no more, fam!"

:P

So if I understand it correctly, you're just using one long USB cable between your headphones and the PS4 / Switch? No intermediary device?

Re: Gaming headset for glasses wearer

For gaming, I'll definitely be going wired USB because of audio lag via BT. It's also marginally better quality wired. As far as I can tell from the picture, the headphones themselves are wireless. If I may ask, how does it work exactly with the USB cable? Are you plugging it into an amplifier of s...

Re: Gaming headset for glasses wearer

That looks nice!! But I thought Bluetooth over the telly was the deal-breaker? Is the sound quality okay after all? Plus the loan shark won't be leaving the house to come after you these days, even if you skip a few months of mortgage payments. Smart move. In a... slightly related but signific...

Yeah I thought it was quite interesting people complaining it was too short. You could finish the original in a couple of hours!
The original RE3 isn't that short, actually. Roughly the length of RE2's ClaireA + LeonB scenarios back-to-back (a bit less than C:VX).

Re: Let's have a thread about the virus, then. We might as well.

The same people who clapped the health service at 8pm Thursday were calling me a “f****g deadbeat queue jumper” and that my ID must be fake when I went to supermarket at 7:30 before work during the NHS specific hours. The store wasn’t even open to them and they were heckling and intimidating everyo...

Re: Let's have a thread about the virus, then. We might as well.

One of the most disappointing parts of this whole situation is seeing nation states behave like common thugs when the chips are down. The US drew heat a few days ago for apparently hijacking chinese shipments of surgical masks intended for France and Canada, while earlier reports indicate that the f...

The Last of Us Part II and Iron Man VR have been delayed until further notice.
I wonder if a part of that is due to good taste.

It's got to be hasn't it ?
Hm... That's a good point, I wouldn't have thought of that.

As far as I can tell, Nintendo in general are never really that generous when it comes to their digital sales, especially in direct comparison to Sony / MS or especially *gulp* Steam.

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Without opening up my DS4 (although it is very tempting  ) this is what a DS1 analogue housing looks like and its not too dissimilar really. Yep, just going from memory it's pretty much what those looked like in the DS4 as well. I was surprised at how complex it was in there, really. First the...

Re: Whatcha Been Playing?

Keeping in mind I'm absolutely nowhere near the type of DIY wizard that Suits is, but my feeble past attempts at trying to fix the stick drift in my DS4 have proven to be wildly unsuccessful. Opened it up (apparently the screws are made of butter - better bring an extra bag of spares if you can), cl...

Re: Videogame News

You might not criticise a film saying it doesn't hold up to today's standards, but you might very well suggest the special effects look privative compared to films now or something like that. Of course you might, and there's nothing wrong with that in and of itself as a simple observation. But I th...

Re: Videogame News

Using in-game cameras as an example, there are too many games to count or name from the fifth & sixth generations that featured poorly implemented cameras [..] the fact that the technical implementation of in-game cameras in 3D space has broadly improved from then to now, is almost undeniable to me...
