Re: Games Completed 2019

23-4 Star Gladiator: Episode I - Final Crusade (PS1) Never gave this game much time, so I did a complete arcade run with one of my favourite Marvel vs. Capcom 2 characters: Hayato. The game is perhaps the most sluggish Capcom fighter I've ever played, with its 30 fps and slow-ass recovery on moves. ...

I'm all about that Isopropyl. Used it for the connectors on my Dreamcast's internal PSU as well, this week.

Re: Retro gaming

I'm mildly optimistic about the intentions behind this whole Antstream thing, even though it's not for me personally. I think clippa has a point about the limitations to longterm success, but... 1. the people behind it seem sound and passionate (or it's just a very good promotional trailer); 2. they...

Re: Shmups

This thread makes me realise I haven’t been playing enough newer games in the genre, recently. I do play some oldies like Thunder Force III, though. And yeah, I need to sort myself out and write that long promised article.

Re: Retro gaming

Man, nice haul 8-) . World Cup on the NES I've never played although I do remember the World Cup on the GameBoy which was great fun and effectively the same game. Very enjoyable doing super shot overhead kicks  . You can get some good deals on cart only, over here at least so it's a great oppo...

Re: Retro gaming

The levels are different, the dog interactions are different, you diffuse bombs instead of save people in the arcade version, but both very much follow on from the original Shinobi in terms of their design and core mechanics, with enemy formations guarding something you need to rescue (or diffuse) a...

^^^^ Yeah, I was just playing it on the o.g. Xbox. Cleared the first set of stages, so all seems well. Played quite a bit of part 2, a while back.

I picked up Battle Garegga on Play Asia recently, and MAN I suck.
Try a more relaxed playing style. Shoot only when absolutely necessary, don't grab too many medals and power ups and be conservative with your bomb uses. You'll find the game will go easier on you.

Re: Retro gaming

^^^^Not bad at all! How was the Streets of Rage session? So last Sunday I went to my first of the two yearly trips to retro gaming cons I allow myself, with some friends and my two kids. I had some birthday money left for this one and on the whole it seems that prices at these conventions are coming...

Re: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Cane and Rinse 360

I sympathise with what you say in your second post, really, but I think you'll never find us condemning anyone for liking a game that some of us might have some (political) issues with. If anything, we all just give our own personal take, no doubt coloured by our own political views, sentiments and ...

Re: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Cane and Rinse 360

Yeah, Gunstar, the post you just wrote is basically engaging in a discussion about this particular talking point, something that you would prefer us not to do. Like Leon said, we responded to this point as brought up by several of our community members. I'm pretty sure none of the panel members actu...

Re: Ghouls N Ghosts - No Death - Arcade World ROM

That's really impressive! Quick question. I'm getting a bit confused with the different versions of this game floating out there. I have the Capcom Classics Collection on PS2 which incorporates Ghouls'n Ghosts. Is that the same version as this one or are there any noticeable differences between the...

Re: What's Out This Week?

^^^^ Those two cents are worth two million in my book. Couldn't agree more. I'm also at an age where I honestly don't care what people say or think about my 43 year old video game playing ass... nor do I go running to people that couln't give two shits about video games to tell them about my high sc...

Are you not really self conscious that you're making a noise and breathing and stuff? I mean, when you're playing and your wife is trying to watch the telly?
